“5 stars!!!! We Love our Pho! (Thom) means "smells good" And that is a fact! When you walk in the door of this family restaurant you can tell it's different. Jimmy Le is a culinary master. He is a second generation business owner/chef. His pho is the best I have ever had and it's because of their secret family recipes that have been passed down from generation to generation. We have been friends since Highschool and me and the basketball players would always go to his Mom and Dads pho shop after a basketball game. It's so healing and just makes you feel good like you're giving your body exactly what it needs to repair itself. Jimmy is also a talented artist, as you sit in his small space each piece of pottery, tea cups, bowls, and urban art are so tastefully place and cultivated from local artists. His mission is to build the business of this new pho shop on Alberta and take care of his mom and dad who are reaching retirement. His family honor is incredibly inspiring and I want to support him reach his goal. Everyone has got to come and experience this family's flavor, they really have something special, it's all about high quality food. There is no question it is top tier. We came back in for early dinner/late lunch on a Friday and it was just as amazing as ever. This will have to be at least a twice a month Phở stop. I'm literally driving 30 minutes one way for this place. ❤️

Alright, I made this post last year and didn't elaborate or have pics AND, we just went back and now I have to go back and update other reviews I have left for the other Phở restaurants on the Westside.

Reason being, that I made a mistake. I won't name other Westside Phở restaurants in this review but I will be forced to go back and update my previous reviews/ratings.

Phở Nguyễn is actually the undisputed (at least in this family) BEST Phở restaurants on the Westside and they ABSOLUTELY have the best Phở broth. This is true whether you get the Beef OR the Chicken Phở.

Their service is also amazing and they have the best Chè Ba Màu (3-color) too. The crushed peanuts in that baby... (= Chef's 💋)

“Great pho with better than most cuts of meat. My wife got the pad thai and said she enjoyed it very much. Would recommend to friends. They were also very nice to my 2.5 year old daughter and were considerate enough to bring a small bowl for her to share some of our food with.“

“We came in about an hour before close, they welcomed us in and let us pick our seats. We were attended to promptly and got our orders in. The chef came out to ask if I was aware of what I was ordering (beef pho with only tripe, since I love tripe and my kids also love it and always steal most of it from me). I kindly let him know we did know and appreciated him making sure we knew what we were ordering. They seemed quite delighted that my young children (7 and 10) were enjoying the tripe so much. Towards the end, my daughter tried a piece of jalapeño that I had added and had been sitting in the soup and had been diluted. She decided that it was not spicy and brazenly attempted to eat a slice of raw jalapeño that came with the pho as well and immediately regretted it. She was in tears and the server was so nice and offered her candies to help with the spice. When she noticed it wasn't helping while I was trying to pay, she got the chef and he came back and gave my daughter milk that helped a bunch. They did not even charge extra, though I did offer. As we were leaving, my daughter gratefully looked up at me and said "mama, they're so kind" with her teary eyes and a smile. We will 100% be back. Super tasty food at a good price but most importantly, such lovely staff members. I am beyond grateful to them for our experience tonight.“

“It's been getting really cold here in Beaverton and I decided to try pho for the first time. I tried the combo beef pho here was amazing! I have some allergies with MSG, so here in BEP there is no MSG in the food. My experience there was really good. With great employees and great service, I could tell that there were intention and care put into this place. Will be coming back soon.“

“Just wanted to review about another delicious meal we had with Pho Bar 405. So far we have had the fried rice, lemongrass chicken plate, beef vermicelli bowl along with shrimp spring rolls. It’s so flavorful and comes in generous- sized portions. We have also ordered here for delivery and loved it. Each time I have had their food it goes well beyond my expectations.“

“I've been looking for a good restaurant serving Thai cuisine in the area but I haven't found too many that particularly impress me. However, CT Bistro in Cedar Mill seems like a good option with a delicious variety of both Vietnamese and Thai cuisine, served fresh and warm. I ordered the pad thai for lunch and received excellent service from a man who seemed to be owner of the eatery. I would like to come back if I am craving some Thai food around town.“

10/10 would recommend both places. They also have a sushi 🍣 place here. And a cafe ☕️ and a wine 🍷 place. So it’s together a dope place!

“This is a must try Viet restaurant for the Portland Metro. They have a location on the West side and East side. The quality and quantity of the Pho is great. The broth is rich. The meat is clean and tasty. The restaurant always is lively and full of customers. The only tricky part can be finding a nearby parking spot during the lunch rush. Prices are $15-20 for most meals but the price is worth it.“

“I am so sad the my past self who kept forgetting to stop at the place with the orange banner! Now, Nom Nom is always at the top of my comfort food list for NW PDX. “Does your grandma have a secret? Portland OR’s does. This grandma spices things with with Vietnamese style fare and cocktails. Super small and quaint little place that is really fun for a group of 2 or 3 people. Prices are high for the drink quality imo, but I would definitely recommend - 4/5“

“I will never be able to eat any other ground beef tacos again, after tasting After Ours'. So flavorful and crunchy. French fries were also superior with a nice aioli and a spicy catsup. And the mocktails were excellent. Service was very friendly and efficient.“

“The food is excellent and fresh. I haven’t eaten anything that wasn’t amazing! I am a huge matcha tea fan. I’ve tried matcha lattes at various spots around Portland and no one makes them as good as Olia Poke! Their matcha is not too sweet and the bright, fresh green flavor of the tea is the star. So many places the matcha flavor is absent (green milk) or it’s way too sweet. Olia strikes that balance perfectly. Love the staff too, they are so friendly!“

“pros- best beef pho in the pacific northwest. subjective, sure. frankly, the noodles are almost always undercooked, but the portion is perfect, and its easily the best broth from any american vietnamese restaurant ive been to, and ive eaten a lot of pho, at lot of different places from numerous corners of the world. the brisket and lean steak are mid, but definitely beef, and beef is delicious in general. no complaints. the meatballs are magical tho. i dont even want to know whats in them because theyre too good.

the broth though. god damn- literally tastes like heaven. you could tell me its toilet water made with spoilt meat and im still getting it every time. its sooo good.

speaking of god.... the only con is they pretty much always play strictly jesus music over the speakers. im not a god fearing man, and its actually more funny than anything, and not a big deal. its just kinda weird to feel like im in church rather than in a spot to fill my tummy. another con would be the fake sriracha and hoisin sauce bottles are always sticky and gross. small price to pay for the best pho on the west coast though. they do provide napkins, lol, and the restaurant is generally clean overall. $17.50 for my bowl of beef combo pho at time of writing.
