“Came here the day before Thanksgiving, it was very packed but staff did a great job moving the line. Ordered 4 of the second smallest sized cakes they offer to try a few out and was very satisfied with them.The double chocolate chip and snickerdoodle were amazing, one of our favorite desserts especially in the area.We are saving the other two for Thanksgiving to share tomorrow...if they make it that long!Definitely recommend checking it out.“

“How? How is Karla’s food this good? We’ve had nearly everything on the menu over the years and each dish is as outstanding as the next. The flavors, textures, ratios are all perfection.My husband and I without fail will look at each other a few bites in, shaking our heads and one of us saying: Karla seriously what the hell.“

“We got our wedding cake from Nutmeg and it was such an awesome and delicious experience! We had so much fun choosing flavors with the cake tasting package (one of the most fun wedding tasks for sure) and we enjoyed so many of the flavors that we’ll be coming back for years for more cakes! I also sent some inspiration photos and Nutmeg absolutely nailed our vision. It was perfect and our cake was not only beautiful but it was so delicious. We can’t wait for our anniversary cake!“

“A few days ago I purchased little cute themed cake cups for my kids. The cakes taste so delicious and the design was so fun and creative. I also purchased mini chocolate cupcakes with nuts. It was very rich and delicious. The lady that took our order was super friendly. I will definitely be back soon.“

“This place did a brilliant job of having very filling options on the menu that weren’t too heavy or calorie dense. This giant breakfast burrito was mainly filled with eggs and a little bit of refried beans. I left full but not feeling gross, which is a fine line to walk with a breakfast burrito.The lox and bagel was ordered by others at the table and it looked very similar - lots of of greens on the plate but they didn’t skimp on the lox or cream cheese. We all were glad to have picked this spot for our weekend brunch.“

“I walk by this shop everyday and finally decided to go in. They have a lot to choose from as well as their specials and some amazing dessert that I was thinking of trying but I didn’t and now regret. They have a cold case with sides (soup, salads (not the lettuce salads) pickles etc. they have a cooler for beverages and then there’s the food! We had to do take out because we had the dog, but I would have enjoyed sitting at one of their three tables and dining. The food was really good! The portion size immense! Plenty for leftovers. I’ll definitely go back and ask for the dessert as well and sit inside. They have outdoor seating for better weather as well. What a little gem of a restaurant. They are open later on Friday and Saturday nights (8pm)“

“First of all--I'm glad to be introduced to another Black owned bakery! And the customer service is great. My aunt located this place when looking for treats for my grandma's bday. Everything was delicious and were a hit with the family, including the cookies. They really have too many cupcake options to choose from ?. I recently stopped by and tried the delicious sweet potato & strawberry shortcake cupcakes. I also have tried the Oreo and Turkey Bacon ones, which were good, too. I'm literally sad it's a Monday and can't wait until Wednesday to visit.“

“There are not enough good things to say about Cathryn’s. My twin sister told me about the bakery. It truly feels like family every time I visit. They know which twin is which by now (LOL). I have referred family and friends to Cathryn’s. In fact, the last time I visited, I went to an event later that evening saw one of their cakes at my friend’s event. Professional representation always and wonderful aesthetic. And I agree with the comment regarding the packaging: very polished down to the details. They make Philadelphia proud!“

“David and the team there provided an awesome first experience. I ordered for a group of peers from our corporate office in Fort Washington for takeout today. The cheesesteak, chicken cheesesteak and turkey clubs were awesome. I'll be ordering here much more from now on. Learned they were a 75 yr running family local business which I love to support.“
