Friendly staff and great atmosphere
It's been quite a while since I've been in North Park. But I have spent a lot of time in my past in that park. I always felt like the lake was a total waste because they never used it for anything. Well times have changed there were so many kayaks canoes and paddle boards on the lake, it was amazing. I happened to go there with my senior group and we went at the invitation of Venture Outdoors who has a concession for renting out kayaks and other watercraft. Love north park, the trails the views but this house is not a boat. Snarf! Iconic Pittsburgh go if you haven't been and go if you're around the area anytime of year is great!

North Park Boathouse is a local favorite offering a great atmosphere with a view of North Park Lake, and an outdoor dining area with heaters for cooler days. The service is friendly and prompt, with a unique food menu including hearty portions like salmon salad and fish salad, as well as a solid selection of local beers on tap and bottled and canned beers. The pomegranate margarita is delish, and pretzels make a great snack. The place gets packed quickly, so it’s best to arrive early, especially after a long walk around the lake. Despite being cramped when busy, the vibes and food are great, and the outdoor patio offers a quiet spot to enjoy the view. Prices are moderate.
