food is always great. owner Steve knows all his customers by his/her name. Great business and very kind and positive owner.
There is no rat problem. People are reacting to their post thanking the APF and the McDonald's informant for catching the killer yesterday. Just stop. Disagreeing with their opinion does not give you the right to sabotage their business, Stop acting like a bunch of entitled Trump supporters.
Hometown food and home of the Altoona hotel pizza.

I can’t say enough about this place! The Altoona Hotel Sicilian Pizza is spot on, and took us back in time to the original. 29th Street’s version has even more cheese and salami, and is definitely worth a try! Also tried a delicious Italian hoagie. The bread was excellent with a great chew, loaded with premium meats and fresh veggies, and the house dressing complimented it perfectly. The best part was the hospitality of the staff! The restaurant was very busy with near constant dine-in and takeout orders, but the owner took time between orders to approach everyone he didn’t already know to make sure their visit was great. We were there near closing time, and a last minute customer walked in with a request. Although out of some ingredients, the owner and staff offered to make special items for them. How awesome is that?!?! An excellent place I will go out of my way to visit again! If you are in Altoona or cruising past on I-99, make it a point to stop in!

Drove here from Michigan to try two slices of their famous Altoona Style pizza! The kindness of the people cannot be matched, they made such a memorable stop for us!
Was also delighted to say that even tho I was hesitant to try it, since im not a big “yellow cheese” fan, the Altoona pizza is really delicious!! 10/10 will stop again!

Excellent food. I dunno why they say building for rent on the side of the building, but I hope that means you guys are just moving somewhere else and not shutting down, because the pizza I had two weeks ago was delicious. Will definitely come back for your subs! Loved all the photos on the wall and history of Altoona.

The home of the OG Altoona Pizza!!
Sicilian crust, with marinara sauce, and topped with salami, green peppers, and cheese!!
To some this might be odd to some but don't knock it til you have tried it.
The slightly salty dough is soft and Fluffy. It's very filling compared to regular pizza.
If your not looking for pizza. Try anything on the menu I'm sure you will be happy!
Wheelchair accessibility: There is a side door where there is a ramp for wheelchairs. The main entrance is steps

I had heard about Altoona style pizza online from people who had most likely never tried it but spoke negatively of it. I had to try it myself when I was in the area to make my own judgment.
First of all, the crust is basically perfect. It’s crisp and crunchy on the bottom and a bit thick with substance. The flavor is complex and perfectly strong with notes from the ham and a lot added from the sharp cheese. The sauce was not neglected and was also flavorful. The green pepper adds an additional crunch and freshness, and is sliced thinly enough and used sparsely enough that it is not overpowering or offensive as is a risk with green pepper.
The man behind the counter was nice and gave me a good vibe. He seemed to enjoy his work.
The atmosphere was pleasant and charming. Not too loud although the lighting was a bit bright for my taste.
