The restaurant itself is rather small, but usually not busy enough in case you want to sit in and eat. Most people get takeout from there instead. The crust is a bit different from a typical pizza, and the cheese is, I believe, mostly high quality deli American and it melts into the sauce in just an amazing way. I've tried a lot of things on the menu and the only thing that I haven't thoroughly enjoyed is the drop noodles. I'd never had them before and they just weren't for me. I think they'd probably go over well for someone who grew up on them. Anyway. The pizza is excellent. The pierogies are fresh and fantastic, with so many filling options! I'm partial to the chili dog pierogies but those are only available sometimes. Check out Facebook for their specials. “The Peanut Bar is one of my favorite places to visit in Carbondale. It's the "go to place" if you're looking for something to do or a good crowd to hang out with. The staff and bartenders are very kind and personable. Also, the Sweet and Spicy burger is one of my menu favorites. It has candied jalapeños, bacon, cheddar cheese, frizzled onions, and hot honey sauce on it. Get it with the hand cut fries and it is perfection! I highly recommend stopping in here and trying the food or any of their specialty drinks. I might have to go tonight because now I am thinking about the burger after writing this review. Haha. I have been meaning to come here for nearly a year now and finally had a day where I could line it up.I love cooper sharp cheese for cheesesteaks so I began trying it on other things and realized I love it on breakfast sandwiches and burgers too. When someone told me the burgers here were great and I saw one on their menu with Cooper Sharp, it was on like donkey Kong … or just a fat hungry guy ??♂️The Cooperstown Burger was a bacon cheeseburger with caramelized onions using cooper Sharp. It was served on a brioche roll and I added the pickles from the side to the burger. I opted to add fries and cole slaw to the plate (I believe that was a $4 upcharge). “My new Pizza Friday "go to". I first had this at the Italian Festival and I really enjoyed it. It is classic NY style pizza. Great tasting crust, sweet tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese. Whenever I order it is ready in 15 minutes - which beats the 1.5 hour wait for a pizza in the Abingtons on a Friday night. Yes - the location is "unique" (they share a storefront with Subway ) but the quality is incredible. Careful - the online menu is out of date and they no longer offer many of the menu items. But many items are still supported and the handwritten board on the wall is "the menu". I ordered the tomato bacon - which is no longer on the menu - so at first they said they could not make it - but after some conversation they said "we'll make it happen". It was incredible - fresh tomatoes instead of sauce with crispy bacon bits generously tossed on the cheese. One slice will do it - it's thick and chock full of tomato's. $20 for the large - you can't beat that. I always get a parking spot right in front of the Federal building so pickup has yet to be an issue. Step outside your comfort zone and give this establishment a hard look. You won't be disappointed. I really like the staff as well - so accommodating.“
