“First time eating at an Ethiopian cuisine, was not what I was expecting. The food was delicious and the service was fantastic. Definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone. In fact I also bought the spices to add to my cooking.“

“Amsale Cafe on Walnut Street is a hidden gem in West Philly that brings a burst of Ethiopian flavor to the neighborhood. The place has a warm, inviting vibe, and the menu is full of rich, aromatic dishes that make your taste buds do a happy dance. From perfectly spiced lentils to injera that’s just right, every bite feels like a hug from the kitchen. It’s the kind of spot where you can relax, enjoy a comforting meal, and feel right at home.“

“First time here earlier today. The bar was good, but I did not get a chance to try the food. Hope to do that eventually.“

“After dealing with the rude and dismissive "manager" of the spot up the street, it was very refreshing to come to a place with friendlier, more respectful people. It's been a while since I've been in here, and I will be back! Cheers!“

“I ate here in 2023 on vacay and had to come back to Philadelphia just to eat here a few months ago. Honestly, eating here is THE reason I flew back to Philly. Vegetable combo and the salad are the best. Will be back as often as I have time to fly back out. Thank you Almaz.“

“Delicious food, large menu and generous portions! Zuzu's is my new favorite! 😋“
“Up until I found Almaz Cafe going to the city was a requirement for Ethiopian food. No longer! Everything I've had here has been delicious and the owners are very friendly. There are other non-Ethiopian choices, but seriously that is what you should come here for. The actual location is less than inspiring, and the music can be loud (which if asked kindly might be able to be adjusted). Over all though, I will keep going back.“

“Top spot for food and nightlife in West Philadelphia! Very grateful for the late night menu and happy hour, as it’s super difficult to have an amazing meal at night in the city. Special shoutout to the performers and DJs that keep the atmosphere lively at Dahlak.“

“Found out about this place by accident and I love it. They have amazing food and the restaurant itself is beautiful. It’s also owned by a family and they are such nice, great people. They offer great service and also make you feel so comfortable and welcomed.
I LOVE ESHKOLLLL!“
