Loved my first show at The Nail. Coming from a VFW/Fire hall DIY metal scene The Nail has that nostalgic feel in a dive bar with amazing, kind staff, good bar food & its small enough I was basically on stage at my table while watching The Last of Lucy & Pathogenic bands I never expected to see that up close & personal. Chris the guy running the show/managing the venue was super friendly & helpful & made me feel at home after driving 2 hours from Lancaster. Definitely coming back...read full review

The Rusty Nail Tavern / Nightclub is a staple of the Philly local music scene, offering a proud dive bar atmosphere perfect for enjoying live music. With a friendly staff, amazing sound system, and delicious food, it remains a favorite among performers and audience members alike. The venue boasts top-notch stage, sound, and lighting, making it an ideal spot for a tour kick-off show or just a night out enjoying intimate local music.
Recently, the owner has been praised for his kindness and compassion. In a notable incident, he calmly assisted a disoriented young woman who arrived at the bar during a show. Rather than turning her away, he provided her a seat, turned off the music, and called for help, demonstrating genuine concern for her well-being. This act of kindness was appreciated by everyone present, highlighting that the Rusty Nail is a true neighborhood gem. The bar continues to feature great music from local and touring bands, while also offering cheap drinks, making it a great place to enjoy a show. The Rusty Nail has successfully taken on the role of supporting small touring acts in the area, especially after the pandemic impacted many original music venues.
