Tried takeout today for the first time and everything was delicious. This is more of a takeout place since the vibe is very basic, but there are a few tables for eat-in. I had the Pork Rib noodles and it was a very large portion with fresh bok choy, nicely spiced pork, and the noodles were cooked perfectly. Also tried spring rolls and hot and sour soup (standards to see how they compare to other restaurants in the area). Spring rolls had options of chicken or chicken and shrimp, not greasy at all, and very good. Hot and sour soup was hotter than I've had elsewhere and not as thick as usual--i prefer this version. Prices were very good especially given the portion size of the noodles, easily enough for 2 meals. I will definitely be back!

So delicious! Perfect hot and spicy noodles on a cold rainy day. The woman who helped us order (presume owner?), picked out the perfect dish for our 3 year old (and gave him a wonderful goji berry fermented rice drink - which he loved), and us. Over the moon this is basically the closest restaurant to our house.

Recently had food from here for lunch and I liked it so much I ordered again the next day. Very impressed with the quality and flavor here. The Biang Biang noodle dish was delicious, very large portion with lots of veggies and a well balanced flavor, would reorder in the future for sure. The scallion pancakes were delicious and NOT super greasy like in most places. Sesame chicken was good as well. I was most impressed by the pork and chive dumplings. These are steamed dumplings and they were so juicy and flavorful I was actually blown away, and the chili/sesame sauce provided went with it perfectly (its not spicy). One of the best dumplings I've ever had, if not THE best and I do not say that lightly. This place is a great addition to the main line, delicious food, large portion size and I highly recommend it. Its also kinda fun that an old American-style diner is now repurposed as a Chinese restaurant.
Only complaint is that they forgot to send me with white rice with my sesame chicken today. Not a huge deal, wont stop me from coming back.
I used to love this kind chinese food in NYC and so glad we have it here in Ardmore now. The Spicy cumin beef and pulled noodles is good

As someone who used to work near Philly's Chinatown, I can comfortably say that this is the best and most authentic Chinese in the Ardmore area. Grab a taste of Shaanxi with the liang pi noodles, or treat yourself to pork belly with chopped chili peppers!

Delicious spot for a very casual lunch or dinner! I had their specialty noodles with only veggies. So tasty. Self-ordering is easy.
This is the best new Chinese restaurant in the main line in ten years. The food at this restaurant is of the style from Shaanxi province, in near north western China. This regional food is all about noodles, dumplings and breads, and this restaurant's example is epic. You're not going to see any rice bowls here.
The star of the show is the noodles. The chef is employing the Chinese tradition of hand pulling noodles, and you will not find noodles in Philadelphia that are this good. They are pulling the noodles *for each order*. You will find noodles in your bowl - I kid you not - that are three feet long and two inches wide, made with only bare hands and technique. The sauces for these noodles have a superb, umami-laden, spicy complexity, without tremendous heat. I think the restaurant has toned down the heat for a western audience, so you could ask for more spice if you're into it. In terms of spice level, food from this region is not afraid of bringing the heat, but also has never been about extreme heat either - so don't assume that you're missing out if you can still taste the food.
Do not pass over the restaurant's dumpling dishes. Unlike almost every Chinese restaurant, these dumplings are not produced and then frozen by contractors working at sweatshop wages. They were made by the same team in the restaurant. It shows - the dumpling skins are three dimensional and taut, and clearly extremely fresh. The skin has been hand rolled; not purchased in bulk from a grocery store. The "one-squeeze" folding technique is on point. The large buns are also excellent, and they have a spicy pork filling that will not be like any of the standard steamed buns that you've had in Chinatown.
Finally, if you have kids (if the kids arent gobbling all the dumplings and pork buns already) you'll want to try the deep fried dough sticks. Unlike the ones you'll see in Chinatown that come from H-mart, these are being fried on location. They have a density and chewiness that speaks to their authenticity in ways that I have not experienced in years. From an American perspective, it's easy to dismiss this dish as something simplistic - like a funnel cake or a fried dough, but the proofing technique involved in getting this texture is very precise and often secret. These are on point.
This restaurant is running a very food focused operation; it is self serve. The team doesn't speak a lot of English. That is just how authentic it is. They’re not going to run around to get you a fork. Order and pay at the counter, and wait for your food to come out to your table. Bring the empty dishes back to the counter. The place is bright and clean, and the bathrooms are spotless. It's everything you need and nothing you don't.
I'm glad to see that the main line is finally getting some of the real diversity of food in China. You can see the local competition jumping in with the negative reviews already. The red and green menus and the msg aren’t going to cut it any more, guys!

I tried this restaurant for the first time today and found it to be quite delicious! My daughter ate the whole steamed bun (baozi) before I could try any, but we also got a youtiao, which was crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and also looked picture perfect.
I got the biang biang mian / biang biang noodle, and the texture of the noodles were great! There was so much variety of meat and vegetables that came with the noodles, and also had house chili oil that was fragrant but not too spicy. If it matters to you, it's self-service, but the waitress/cashier offered to get utensils for my young daughter and me, which I really appreciated!
There aren't that many restaurants that sell Xi'an food in this area, so I highly recommend you try this place out!
Parking: There is a parking lot in the back of the restaurant--- enter in the driveway between the Toyota lot and the perpendicular parking.

The pork was really good! I was expecting better tasting noodles for all the work I had to put in to get here and order! I would have liked for the rep to visit my table every once and a while and ask if I wanted water. She did provide good service when I was ordering on the screen!
