Just had dinner at Bird-in-Hand Restaurant- the smorgasbord was amazing! So many choices! Everything was hot and delicious. The cheeseburger soup was very good! The homemade rolls- very yummy! Shrimp, ribs, mashed potatoes! Salad! I even had a mango slushy! Definitely the place to eat. Can’t wait to come back and try breakfast! Oh and dessert! Wow! Pies, puddings, amazing. Very Lancaster County authentic food! Loved it!
I have had better food at the Golden Corral. The food just was not good. Definitely not traditional Amish food. Very disappointing and not worth the price.
Delicious food Great and friendly service!

The Bird-in-Hand Family Restaurant & Smorgasbord continues to offer a buffet and smorgasbord with a mix of good and limited options. The food remains decent, with some dishes that stand out, such as stewed tomatoes, mashed potatoes, and turkey gravy. The service is attentive, featuring knowledgeable staff who make guests feel comfortable and welcome. The restaurant is kid-friendly, with amenities like booster seats, high-chairs, and a cute little Noah's ark for children.
Customers still praise the restaurant, describing it as the "best place ever" with "good food, good service, friendly and clean" environment. Many guests feel "like the staff welcomes me home," highlighting the welcoming atmosphere. The baked goods, especially the cream puffs with chocolate frosting, are still considered "the absolute best." The restaurant is highly recommended by loyal customers for its exceptional food and wide variety of dishes available on the buffet.
While the ambiance has not dramatically changed since the fire, it still provides country comfort with plenty of good, hot, and well-prepared food. The soup and fried chicken are favorites among diners. A new kiddie buffet has been added, and the salad bar has been relocated to make room for the dessert bar, allowing guests to enjoy dessert first if they choose. Drinks come with the meal, and the price remains comparable to other restaurants. Although some customers noted that the food could be warmer, they still found it amazing. The restaurant has been busy, even on a Tuesday at 2 PM, and guests are eager to return.
