“We stumbled upon this gem at a kiosk at the hotel we are staying at and we can never turn down BBQ. 😂 the food was great, the service was great, and everything was fast, hot and perfect. Mark was our waiter and he was amazing. Not only is he a great server (i know because I worked in this industry), he’s incredibly kind and hilarious. We came for my birthday, which he knew. When I said no to dessert he asked if he could bring me a scoop of ice cream with a candle, to which I said “sure, but no singing!” Well when he came back to the table with another employee he loudly pronounced “on the count of 3!” Like they were going to sing and counted down then walked away. It was incredibly funny. Thank you, Mark, for making the night memorable!“

“Just had dinner at Bird-in-Hand Restaurant- the smorgasbord was amazing! So many choices! Everything was hot and delicious. The cheeseburger soup was very good! The homemade rolls- very yummy! Shrimp, ribs, mashed potatoes! Salad! I even had a mango slushy! Definitely the place to eat. Can’t wait to come back and try breakfast! Oh and dessert! Wow! Pies, puddings, amazing. Very Lancaster County authentic food! Loved it!“

I have a almost three year old with that said this place was just so nice going in at 3pm - we had a little area to ourselves and the food was amazing. I never order a pork chop anywhere as well ya... lol but thanks to this page ans what i read on reviews it was by far the best meal i had in a long time. My girl ordered the pizza didnt touch any of it as she was too busy eating my pork chop and her grand parents yummy meat loaf and truffle mac and cheese All of us left stuffed and happy It was just too darn yummy ! “One of Lancaster County's greatest hidden treasures is the White Swan Restaurant in Rothsville, PA. If you like great food, great service and an uplifting atmosphere , this is the place for you. Drew, the owner/chef who runs things, does an incredible job and he has helped make the establishment as close to the TV show Cheers, as possible. His family all chip in to make it a gem of the county. I have frequented the Swan many times over the years and have been a regular at their Thursday night trivia for the past 14 years. Chelsea takes care of the bar and is fantastic and Elena and Shannon take care of the waitress duties during trivia night. They are the best!!! And Mike D brings his infectious charm as host of trivia. So if you want good food, reasonable pricing and just a great place to hang out, the White Swan is the place for you. You will not be disappointed!!“

We haven’t been there for a few years because we live several hours away, but went out of our way to go today and it was even better than we remembered. Lindsey was our server and was so incredibly knowledgeable and attentive. The food was quick and high quality, and we were very impressed with the craft cocktails. “This is our very favorite restaurant, however due to a very large crowd this evening, we had to sit at the bar. It was nice at first. But our waitress/bartender was a bit rude to us and didn't even check on how our meals came out, offer more beverages, refills and did not offer dessert. We usually tip very well but didn't this time. The crowd had really dispersed by the time we had our meals so there was really no excuse for the bad service. We will continue to go back of course becasue we love it there but hoping for a better experience.“

We stayed in the Carriage House—very clean rooms with their own parking, and just a short, easy walk to the main hotel. The complimentary breakfast buffet for guests was a highlight—especially the made-to-order omelettes, which were absolutely delicious! “We come from Maryland to go to Dottie's Snack Bar. We missed them when they were closed. We are so glad they are back and still as a family run small business. My favorite thing is a strawberry sundae. The ice cream is great! So are the steak subs. Welcome back Dottie's.“

We enjoyed watching the Strasburg railroad train go by, pet the animals (outside at the barn), amazing staff, fun gift shop and absolutely incredible food! “Delicious meal (Crab cakes are so good) and so was the cheeseburger slider with upgrade of salad - so fresh and big enough for 2 to share. good selection of fun drinks and beers and very good service. Carmen our server was so helpful and worked hard caring for us and even saw her watering the lovely garden outside. The outdoor dining area is pretty and inviting but was too hot outdoors for us last night. Next time we go we will sit in the outdoor garden for dinner.“

“My husband and I were on a small getaway and discovered this treasure. I am an ice cream lover and must tell you that this is hands down the BEST ice cream I ever had. My husband profoundly agrees! He wanted to go again before we left but it wasn’t possible. We’re already trying to plan another trip down just to go to Fox Meadows. Also, the staff was so friendly. The you g woman who waited on us was extremely friendly and provided us samples to try. Since it was our first visit we were also given a free beverage each! We 💯 percent recommend!!!!!“

“Spring/summer/early fall Friday night live band nights are always fun. Recently discovered the Birds Nest Deck to watch the Eagles games and I won’t watch them anywhere else now. I believe there has been a change of ownership since the past (2021) and I definitely think they are moving in the right direction.“

The rooms have so much charm and felt slightly updated while still keeping that cozy, themed feel. Everything was super clean, and the grounds were beautifully maintained. The kids loved the playground and pool, and we all enjoyed strolling around the little lake—especially spotting all the baby ducks! The only downside was that breakfast isn’t included. We didn’t try the on-site restaurant, but there are plenty of great local spots nearby. Overall, a fun and memorable stay—highly recommend!“

“I held a private luncheon on a Saturday afternoon for 30 people. Mick responded promptly when I made an online inquiry. The room and food were prepared to perfection. The service was excellent, the room and tables were clean, and the food was delicious. It was nice to have the outdoor area for the little kids to get a break and play. We had reserved the room for two hours, and some guests were slow to leave. The staff was patient and did not rush us out the door. I highly recommend Mick’s in Willow Street.“

“I only recently tried Mick's and I loved it. Love the pizza in particular. Typically, when I try a restaurant with only one or two items I will eat. As someone with severe food sensory issues, I love that there are so many items on the menu that I can eat! Pizza is my go-to but I am branching out and trying other dishes. I haven't tried anything I didn't like yet. Loving the Shepherds Pie today!!!“

“We come to this restaurant often when we are in Pa camping. We love their Crab Bisque and shrimp special that is served on Thursday's. It's really good! Going tonight to try their pot pie. Great place to check out when in the area.“

“Small but great pretzel place!! I got a pizza pretzel which was a hefty croissant shaped pretzel STUFFED with pepperoni, cheese, and pizza sauce. It was soooo good and hearty. I got it on a whim and greatly enjoyed it. I also got a regular salted pretzel that was very good, nice chewy and doughy! I highly recommend a stop in if you like pretzels.“

“While I like most of Stoltzfus’s items, I’ve been disappointed in their chicken salad. It used to be a staple in our home but seems like they’ve changed the recipe. It’s now so runny with mayo (or whatever they use) that it plops right off our sandwiches. They’ve also seem to cut back on the celery which added a nice contrasting crunch. Please bring back the old recipe.“

“I went there with a group of 6. Easy reservations just a few hours earlier, good food, cool decor. We were in the indoor dining room on first floor. Very loud group next to us, so towards the end of our dining conversation had become nearly impossible. Good reviews on their soda bread, shepherd's pie, and classic fish & chips! Definitely recommend their cheesesteak egg rolls as well!“
