A friend of mine of many years said it’s the best in the area, my wife and I just moved back from Florida and they don’t make very pizza down there.😊 Anyway, your pizza is AWESOME, TASTY and just very very delicious and great!!!! Great crust, love the sauce, curled up pepperoni!!! “Our son's wedding reception was held here, and it was our first time visiting. I was being a bit nosy about the basement when a gentleman who worked there noticed and kindly asked if we’d like to take a peek. Thank you again — that small gesture showed how much you care about your visitors’ experience. During the reception, a family with three young kids started to get a little bored. That same gentleman came out with a basket of brand-new Matchbox cars and gave each child one. Wow! What a thoughtful and above-and-beyond thing to do. “We visited Bullies Saturday evening, 4/9. For starters I had the mussels. Absolutely delicious. I'd go back just for them. My wife had bacon wrapped scallops. They were really good, also. For entrees I had the Kona tenderloin steak. It was perfectly cooked and fork tender. My only issue, it came out barely luke warm. Same for my French fries. I'd call them cold. The roasted brussel sprouts, which I was really anticipating, were tasty, but all but burned and only luke warm. Though I should have said something to the server, I didn't. My bad. My wife's meal, beef tenderloin tips, were perfectly cooked, hot and fork tender, with mushroom and onion gravy. They were on a bed of rice. Dessert was creme brulee and NY cheesecake. Both were very good. I was disappointed with the cheesecake slice, being about half the size of what I consider a normal sized slice. All in all, a tasty meal. I'd return, but in the future insist on a HOT meal, not luke warm.“

“The food is to die for, you cannot pick a wrong item! We got the crab dip appetizer, pulled pork entree, crab cake sandwich and the kid's mini dog with fries. Everything was spectacular. Highly recommend the apples and cinnamon as a side! The staff is helpful and attentive from the host all the way to the waitress and managers. I've never been to a restaurant where the service is so great! We will definitely be a return customer 😊 Side note: The restaurant is extremely kid friendly and accommodating. They have high chairs and tables with enough room to fit the high chair or a stroller while still having enough room for everyone else.“

For lunch, make sure you get a burger or the hot turkey meal if she's serving it! Becky & her employees are awesome!“

“This place is very nice, but the mac n cheese should be avoided. Portion was smaller than anticipated and the flavor was very bland. Also not a fan of the corn that was added in there. Apps were great, drinks were great, just should've avoided the Mac n cheese.“

“We were greeted warmly as we walked in and seated promptly. Our sever - shout out to Hunter - was the sweetest. I couldn't decide which drink I wanted and had him surprise me. Did not disappoint. He was great and friendly and took care of us. Food came out hot and quick. I had the braided soft pretzel with probably the best beer cheese I've ever had. Getting a flight means picking 6 beers to try - all of which were great. The Strawberry Wheat Ale was my favorite. On top of the great food and beer, I also got the smores martini, then the peanut butter espresso martini which honestly exceeded my expectations. I've been wanting to try LBC for a few months now and have to say everything was much better than I could have expected. Wish I could give more than 5 stars. Will definitely be making the drive to come back out.“

“Be careful if going here. It looks like they are having real issues with trouble makers, which can happen with any tavern along the river. About 10 days ago they confronted a person outside who refused to pay. That guy pulled a gun on the employee and threatened to shoot them in the head. Look online, you'll see the news story. We went there with another couple anyway for supper aware of the situation that possibly the management wasn't able to keep the trouble out of the place. Within minutes Courtney had our drinks at the table and placed our food orders ... and then some white trash at the bar left out a super loud screech or whistle looking for attention. It was bad. Then he did it again a few minutes later and left. One more time and I'd have gotten involved. The owner needs to hire some beefy enforcement right now to keep a handle on this or the place is going to get a reputation like the Bainbridge Inn as a good place to raise hell and start a fight. NOT date night atmosphere.“

“This is our very favorite restaurant, however due to a very large crowd this evening, we had to sit at the bar. It was nice at first. But our waitress/bartender was a bit rude to us and didn't even check on how our meals came out, offer more beverages, refills and did not offer dessert. We usually tip very well but didn't this time. The crowd had really dispersed by the time we had our meals so there was really no excuse for the bad service. We will continue to go back of course becasue we love it there but hoping for a better experience.“

“I went there with a group of 6. Easy reservations just a few hours earlier, good food, cool decor. We were in the indoor dining room on first floor. Very loud group next to us, so towards the end of our dining conversation had become nearly impossible. Good reviews on their soda bread, shepherd's pie, and classic fish & chips! Definitely recommend their cheesesteak egg rolls as well!“

“Been to Shanks quite a few times. We moved about 25 min away a little over a year ago and this place doesn’t disappoint. Every time we order drinks and food it’s been solidly consistent. This past Sunday we went for drinks and food at happy hour. 6 dollar Bloodys and 4 dollar pickle shots is a steal and of course I had 2 Bloodys. My wife and I went with the special for food. Bacon egg and cheese on potato bun with a sriracha maple glaze. The star of the show though is always Andi. She’s an amazing bartender. Whenever we go there ( we have to sit at the bar ) and she’s there. We are in for a good time. Keep doing what your doing and we will keep coming back“

After waiting a little bit the front desk went to check on it and said they were a little bit behind which ok it was busy and prime dinner time on a Friday. Not long after another employee came out to tell me they’re so sorry that the kitchen is behind and offered me a free drink of my choice, I passed it up and instead they gave me two growlers to go, mind you I was ok with waiting on my food I wasn’t complaining just waiting patiently. It was like 15min past the time they gave me ok, no biggie. When I finally got home to eat all the food was amazing and hot. In today’s world this really means a-lot, I love supporting local!! “I used to go to JJJ regularly when I lived in Lancaster. I moved to Delaware in 2020, and this was my first time back to JJJ since then - and it was as good as I remember, perhaps even better! I love the atmosphere in the bar (although the drink pours could stand to be a little heavier). Our server, Bill, was excellent. He took a lot of time to review the menu and share more details about some of the dishes, and he made some great recommendations. His service was very attentive and the food was outstanding. It came out piping hot and was presented beautifully. Bill offered dessert, but we were stuffed!“

“About a year ago, I went to John Wright Restaurant for Sunday brunch with a group of friends. I didn’t know what to expect, but the moment I arrived, I was struck by the beautiful waterfront scenery and the stunning, rustic building. Inside, that old-world charm blends perfectly with an upscale dining vibe, giving the place a truly special and unique energy. The brunch was absolutely delicious—so many options, including my personal favorite, eggs Benedict. Fast forward to last night: I stopped in for happy hour with a friend, and we grabbed seats at the bar. It was surprisingly comfortable and not overcrowded at all. The two bartenders were fantastic—warm, funny, and attentive. And the cocktails… OH MY GOSH. Just try them. You’ll thank me later! We ordered the calamari and crab risotto small plates, and they were so good that we immediately ordered a second round of the exact same thing. From a relaxed Sunday brunch, to after-work apps and cocktails, to a special dinner out—John Wright Restaurant gets a solid 10/10 from me. 🍽️“

“We were at McCleary’s today when a storm came through and knocked out the power. The staff was great! They were friendly, flexible, helpful, and all-around great. They joked and filled water and checked on everyone. It’s easy to offer great service/food under normal circumstances, but these folks knocked it out of the park under really bad conditions. Bravo.
