“Hello and good afternoon!! I was just in and ordered and picked up a Cheese pizza and a Pepperoni pizza. A friend of mine of many years said it’s the best in the area, my wife and I just moved back from Florida and they don’t make very pizza down there.😊 Anyway, your pizza is AWESOME, TASTY and just very very delicious and great!!!! Great crust, love the sauce, curled up pepperoni!!! I loved it and I know my wife will too!!!!!😊❤️🍕🍕🍕❤️😊 The young lady bartender was very nice and personable and the young man that made my pizzas also was very very nice and polite!!!! GREAT experience, we will definitely be back and I will promote you where I work, great looking menu too!!! Can’t wait to try your crab cake!!! 1 to 5 , I give today a 10!!! Thank you!!!! “When friends come to town we go to Bully’s. It is the place to go for casual upscale dining in Columbia. I have been taking guests there since Dave and Sherry opened 25 years ago and have always had a great experience. There are always great choices on the menu and the atmosphere is fun and historic. The unique wedge shaped site at the intersection of Lancaster Avenue and Union Street features plenty of parking and an onsite bakery. The owners are great supporters of the community and have been hands-on in all aspects of the operation. Well appointed guest rooms are available above the restaurant. “Our son's wedding reception was held here, and it was our first time visiting. I was being a bit nosy about the basement when a gentleman who worked there noticed and kindly asked if we’d like to take a peek. Thank you again — that small gesture showed how much you care about your visitors’ experience. During the reception, a family with three young kids started to get a little bored. That same gentleman came out with a basket of brand-new Matchbox cars and gave each child one. Wow! What a thoughtful and above-and-beyond thing to do. You truly helped make their day — and ours — even brighter. Thank you for your kindness and hospitality!“

“It was great experience.Food and drinks were delicious. Staff is friendly and food was coming out quickly and right. I would really recommend butternut squash and lobster bisque soup 😋. We had mushroom pasta and shrt ribs. It was absolutely out of this world. It was crowded and loud a little on Sunday night. Reservation is a must.“

“The food is to die for, you cannot pick a wrong item! We got the crab dip appetizer, pulled pork entree, crab cake sandwich and the kid's mini dog with fries. Everything was spectacular. Highly recommend the apples and cinnamon as a side! The staff is helpful and attentive from the host all the way to the waitress and managers. I've never been to a restaurant where the service is so great! We will definitely be a return customer 😊 Side note: The restaurant is extremely kid friendly and accommodating. They have high chairs and tables with enough room to fit the high chair or a stroller while still having enough room for everyone else.“

The authenticy from the people to the place sent me in overload of nostalgia reminiscing from when my Nanny was alive & visiting her and being in her kitchen (she had same type of tables and older kitchen gadgets, right down to the whiskey container's too) with her cooking breakfast. “very nice place- don’t get too intoxicated as there are plenty of tight steps to endure on the way out :) Most servers we have enjoyed being around has made visits superb however we’ve heard (1)? with some negative issues in life literally crying at the bar, which presents a downer for customers. finally, the happy & overall pleasant staff, happy blond mgr included, we have heard bar patrons gossip after customers leave- & some tenders joining in- & wonder if, this takes place, after we leave…“

We haven’t been there for a few years because we live several hours away, but went out of our way to go today and it was even better than we remembered. Lindsey was our server and was so incredibly knowledgeable and attentive. The food was quick and high quality, and we were very impressed with the craft cocktails. We will look forward to the next time we can enjoy a meal here!“

“This is our very favorite restaurant, however due to a very large crowd this evening, we had to sit at the bar. It was nice at first. But our waitress/bartender was a bit rude to us and didn't even check on how our meals came out, offer more beverages, refills and did not offer dessert. We usually tip very well but didn't this time. The crowd had really dispersed by the time we had our meals so there was really no excuse for the bad service. We will continue to go back of course becasue we love it there but hoping for a better experience.“

“About a year ago, I went to John Wright Restaurant for Sunday brunch with a group of friends. I didn’t know what to expect, but the moment I arrived, I was struck by the beautiful waterfront scenery and the stunning, rustic building. Inside, that old-world charm blends perfectly with an upscale dining vibe, giving the place a truly special and unique energy. The brunch was absolutely delicious—so many options, including my personal favorite, eggs Benedict. Fast forward to last night: I stopped in for happy hour with a friend, and we grabbed seats at the bar. It was surprisingly comfortable and not overcrowded at all. The two bartenders were fantastic—warm, funny, and attentive. And the cocktails… OH MY GOSH. Just try them. You’ll thank me later! We ordered the calamari and crab risotto small plates, and they were so good that we immediately ordered a second round of the exact same thing. From a relaxed Sunday brunch, to after-work apps and cocktails, to a special dinner out—John Wright Restaurant gets a solid 10/10 from me. 🍽️“

“When they remodeled I was hoping the food got better also. It did not. Been going here for 20 years of my life, and started taking my kids there. Mediocre food at best.“

“Be careful if going here. It looks like they are having real issues with trouble makers, which can happen with any tavern along the river. About 10 days ago they confronted a person outside who refused to pay. That guy pulled a gun on the employee and threatened to shoot them in the head. Look online, you'll see the news story. We went there with another couple anyway for supper aware of the situation that possibly the management wasn't able to keep the trouble out of the place. Within minutes Courtney had our drinks at the table and placed our food orders ... and then some white trash at the bar left out a super loud screech or whistle looking for attention. It was bad. Then he did it again a few minutes later and left. One more time and I'd have gotten involved. The owner needs to hire some beefy enforcement right now to keep a handle on this or the place is going to get a reputation like the Bainbridge Inn as a good place to raise hell and start a fight. NOT date night atmosphere.“

“The food, most of the time, is delicious. The only thing is that most of the time you have to call back to back before anyone answers the phone and when you arrive, the staff seems a little chaotic and overwhelmed - maybe they're understaffed? I've never had a negative interaction with anyone, there just seems to be a lot of confusion and overwhelm. All that aside, I really do love this place.“

“Spring/summer/early fall Friday night live band nights are always fun. Recently discovered the Birds Nest Deck to watch the Eagles games and I won’t watch them anywhere else now. I believe there has been a change of ownership since the past (2021) and I definitely think they are moving in the right direction.“

“We stay there at least twice a year when we go to Events at Mount Hope Winery. The rooms are great and the resteraunt/bar never disappoints ( huge selection of seasonal beer/ cocktails) They even have a great selection of gluten free items at breakfast“

It's fun to order. The food is beautiful. I wouldn't call it great, but I would say it's very good. There's enough variety to everyone to enjoy. You can tell someone has long loved working at this place.
I also really liked the cie cream.
You can afford to bring your friends, your family and your first (or 50th) date.“

“I've eaten here a number of times and, I think they switched over to using smash burgers so, two patties is recommended. Today, they had our hamburgers sitting on the counter getting cold until the fries were done, Bummer. Fries were good.“

“I held a private luncheon on a Saturday afternoon for 30 people. Mick responded promptly when I made an online inquiry. The room and food were prepared to perfection. The service was excellent, the room and tables were clean, and the food was delicious. It was nice to have the outdoor area for the little kids to get a break and play. We had reserved the room for two hours, and some guests were slow to leave. The staff was patient and did not rush us out the door. I highly recommend Mick’s in Willow Street.“

“I only recently tried Mick's and I loved it. Love the pizza in particular. Typically, when I try a restaurant with only one or two items I will eat. As someone with severe food sensory issues, I love that there are so many items on the menu that I can eat! Pizza is my go-to but I am branching out and trying other dishes. I haven't tried anything I didn't like yet. Loving the Shepherds Pie today!!!“

“I went there with a group of 6. Easy reservations just a few hours earlier, good food, cool decor. We were in the indoor dining room on first floor. Very loud group next to us, so towards the end of our dining conversation had become nearly impossible. Good reviews on their soda bread, shepherd's pie, and classic fish & chips! Definitely recommend their cheesesteak egg rolls as well!“
