“This place is so underrated. I don't get it, the parking lot is practically empty all the time but this place is legit the best restaurant in the area. The food is always unique, the draft beer selection is second to none in this town (have to go to Lancaster city or Harrisburg to compete with this). Music selection is good, servers are chill... I don't get why this place isn't packed. If u pass thru Etown u need to go to the Black Gryphon.“

I had the veggie last week...it was so peppery that I couldn't eat it...I had the Italian Wedding soup this week...that was just a downright disgrace! The broth was so salty and I have never had or made Italian wedding soup with sausage meatballs...there wasn't any chicken to be found and carrots, spinach and orzo were nonexistent. The broth was so dark at first I thought they made a mistake. Lesson learned...next time I want Italian Wedding soup I will make my own.“

“We visited Bullies Saturday evening, 4/9. For starters I had the mussels. Absolutely delicious. I'd go back just for them. My wife had bacon wrapped scallops. They were really good, also. For entrees I had the Kona tenderloin steak. It was perfectly cooked and fork tender. My only issue, it came out barely luke warm. Same for my French fries. I'd call them cold. The roasted brussel sprouts, which I was really anticipating, were tasty, but all but burned and only luke warm. Though I should have said something to the server, I didn't. My bad. My wife's meal, beef tenderloin tips, were perfectly cooked, hot and fork tender, with mushroom and onion gravy. They were on a bed of rice. Dessert was creme brulee and NY cheesecake. Both were very good. I was disappointed with the cheesecake slice, being about half the size of what I consider a normal sized slice. All in all, a tasty meal. I'd return, but in the future insist on a HOT meal, not luke warm.“

“Our son's wedding reception was held here, and it was our first time visiting. I was being a bit nosy about the basement when a gentleman who worked there noticed and kindly asked if we’d like to take a peek. Thank you again — that small gesture showed how much you care about your visitors’ experience. During the reception, a family with three young kids started to get a little bored. That same gentleman came out with a basket of brand-new Matchbox cars and gave each child one. Wow! What a thoughtful and above-and-beyond thing to do. “Be careful if going here. It looks like they are having real issues with trouble makers, which can happen with any tavern along the river. About 10 days ago they confronted a person outside who refused to pay. That guy pulled a gun on the employee and threatened to shoot them in the head. Look online, you'll see the news story. We went there with another couple anyway for supper aware of the situation that possibly the management wasn't able to keep the trouble out of the place. Within minutes Courtney had our drinks at the table and placed our food orders ... and then some white trash at the bar left out a super loud screech or whistle looking for attention. It was bad. Then he did it again a few minutes later and left. One more time and I'd have gotten involved. The owner needs to hire some beefy enforcement right now to keep a handle on this or the place is going to get a reputation like the Bainbridge Inn as a good place to raise hell and start a fight. NOT date night atmosphere.“

All of our entrees including Burger, Pimento Cheese Chicken Sandwich with fries, Salad, fried egg rolls, and Bavarian pretzel was all very good. Our server was attentive and friendly yet not overly pesky. We sat outside on a hot day but wasn’t too bad due to the shade and high speed fans. Probably the perfect spot for us after a day of riding rides at the park! Lastly, the adult drinks were on point and the perfect end to a great day. Thanks Hidden Still! We will be back!!“

The brunch was absolutely delicious—so many options, including my personal favorite, eggs Benedict. Fast forward to last night: I stopped in for happy hour with a friend, and we grabbed seats at the bar. It was surprisingly comfortable and not overcrowded at all. The two bartenders were fantastic—warm, funny, and attentive. And the cocktails… OH MY GOSH. Just try them. You’ll thank me later! We ordered the calamari and crab risotto small plates, and they were so good that we immediately ordered a second round of the exact same thing. “Bills takes me back to a time when I was a young child. It's a beautiful old restaurant. The staff are fantastic, especially the older lady who waited on us. She said she was the waitress there from the time it was opened, many years ago. Food is fantastic! We always went for the breakfast, which came quick and was always delicious! Pricing is very reasonable. The only thing that I would change is, you have to pay cash, no cards. But, I did say it took me back. Thanks Bill, great job!“
