“When friends come to town we go to Bully’s. It is the place to go for casual upscale dining in Columbia. I have been taking guests there since Dave and Sherry opened 25 years ago and have always had a great experience. There are always great choices on the menu and the atmosphere is fun and historic. The unique wedge shaped site at the intersection of Lancaster Avenue and Union Street features plenty of parking and an onsite bakery. The owners are great supporters of the community and have been hands-on in all aspects of the operation. Well appointed guest rooms are available above the restaurant. “It was great experience.Food and drinks were delicious. Staff is friendly and food was coming out quickly and right. I would really recommend butternut squash and lobster bisque soup 😋. We had mushroom pasta and shrt ribs. It was absolutely out of this world. It was crowded and loud a little on Sunday night. Reservation is a must.“

“The food is to die for, you cannot pick a wrong item! We got the crab dip appetizer, pulled pork entree, crab cake sandwich and the kid's mini dog with fries. Everything was spectacular. Highly recommend the apples and cinnamon as a side! The staff is helpful and attentive from the host all the way to the waitress and managers. I've never been to a restaurant where the service is so great! We will definitely be a return customer 😊 Side note: The restaurant is extremely kid friendly and accommodating. They have high chairs and tables with enough room to fit the high chair or a stroller while still having enough room for everyone else.“

I got the autumn salmon which was perfectly done and paired with the most delicious autumn vegetables. My husband had steak and fries and added a crab cake and loved everything as well. My daughter even gave the deep dish pizza 2 thumbs up! Forgot to take a picture but one of my favorite things about Tony’s is their attention to detail and how beautifully they plate their dishes.“

“I came here for a trivia night event and had the Sea-duction with a side of green beans and a baked potato. The seafood was tender and well-seasoned. I especially enjoyed the broiled flounder. The baked potato was cooked just right and came with butter and sour cream. I absolutely loved the seasoning on the green beans and they were tender without being overcooked. The service was prompt and friendly, especially with the business of the evening. The dining area was open with an inviting ambiance. We haven’t been there for a few years because we live several hours away, but went out of our way to go today and it was even better than we remembered. Lindsey was our server and was so incredibly knowledgeable and attentive. The food was quick and high quality, and we were very impressed with the craft cocktails. “This is our very favorite restaurant, however due to a very large crowd this evening, we had to sit at the bar. It was nice at first. But our waitress/bartender was a bit rude to us and didn't even check on how our meals came out, offer more beverages, refills and did not offer dessert. We usually tip very well but didn't this time. The crowd had really dispersed by the time we had our meals so there was really no excuse for the bad service. We will continue to go back of course becasue we love it there but hoping for a better experience.“

“About a year ago, I went to John Wright Restaurant for Sunday brunch with a group of friends. I didn’t know what to expect, but the moment I arrived, I was struck by the beautiful waterfront scenery and the stunning, rustic building. Inside, that old-world charm blends perfectly with an upscale dining vibe, giving the place a truly special and unique energy. The brunch was absolutely delicious—so many options, including my personal favorite, eggs Benedict. Fast forward to last night: I stopped in for happy hour with a friend, and we grabbed seats at the bar. It was surprisingly comfortable and not overcrowded at all. The two bartenders were fantastic—warm, funny, and attentive. And the cocktails… OH MY GOSH. Just try them. You’ll thank me later! We ordered the calamari and crab risotto small plates, and they were so good that we immediately ordered a second round of the exact same thing. Yes, we had a little extra wait time with such a large group which was to be expected, but the crew was on top of our drink service and checked back frequently to follow up on our needs. No easy task serving so many at once- Carmen and Johanna were on top of things and Jess was thrown into the fire with it being her first night on the job - you would have never known.! Everyone was happy with their meals, great food and friendly service.

“Spring/summer/early fall Friday night live band nights are always fun. Recently discovered the Birds Nest Deck to watch the Eagles games and I won’t watch them anywhere else now. I believe there has been a change of ownership since the past (2021) and I definitely think they are moving in the right direction.“

“We stay there at least twice a year when we go to Events at Mount Hope Winery. The rooms are great and the resteraunt/bar never disappoints ( huge selection of seasonal beer/ cocktails) They even have a great selection of gluten free items at breakfast“

“Had two sandwiches, the Reuben and a chicken salad on cranberry walnut bread. Delish. Other restaurants could take lessons from them on how to make a Reuben. Where they fell short was with the overpriced drinks, Autumn rum runner and a martini. The martini came with a 2" square ice cube and not much drink. They need to take lessons from Penn's Tavern Restaurant on how to make a rum runner. No one has beat theirs yet.“
