if you live around Blue Bell, Montgomeryville
and , North Wales area and you want to try decent Korean food , this place has it. it’s located in a very cute plaza near Montgomery Community college. Went at 2PM on a Saturday, we were just the only ones. the staff there are amazing and professional.

*they reverted back to the Korea Garden name after the other brand and management didnt go well.“

“Absolutely amazing Korean BBQ experience! The galbi and beef short ribs were incredible it perfectly seasoned, tender, flavorful, and seriously some of the best Korean BBQ I’ve had. Everything we tried was fresh and delicious.

Gina and the entire staff were nothing short of amazing. They were welcoming, attentive, helpful, and made the whole experience feel special from beginning to end. The service matched the quality of the food, which is hard to find!

“I've been here a handful of times at this point and can safely say I love their menu. I recommend the squid dolsot. Oh, and their bonchon is amazing and accompanies whatever you order.

The place is clean, open, with plenty of seats to cover a variety of party sizes. While the menu has depth, it is limited enough to keep you from wandering what to eat forever. Service is friendly and quick. Prices and portions more than fair.

“Wanted to try something different and everything that I saw coming from there had looked good and the smell made your stomach growl. I had the "stir frie noodles" with beef and the spicy 🌶 chicken wings. They were both wonderful! I throughly enjoyed my meal and would definitely go back there again! So glad I tried them!“

“These steamed buns are absolutely delicious! I recommend coming for lunch as they are even more hot and fresh. It's hidden on a corner downstairs in Hmart. I highly, highly recommend it!

“We came here for dinner after trying several other Korean restaurants in the area, and decided to give Yong Hwa Roo a try. Overall, it was a decent experience, but unfortunately it didn't really stand out compared to some of the other Korean restaurants nearby. The food was good, and the staff were friendly, but there were a few things that kept it from being a standout visit.

Atmosphere -
The restaurant feels pretty dated and doesn't have much in terms of atmosphere or decor. It is kept clean enough and maintained, but there isn't really anything memorable about the space. It feels more like a place you come primarily for the food rather than the dining experience.

Service -
The staff and owners were very friendly, approachable, and welcoming. They were happy to answer questions and made us feel comfortable throughout our visit. This was definitely one of the stronger parts of the experience.

What We Ordered -
-Banchan - This was probably the weakest part of the meal for me. Compared to other Korean restaurants that usually offer at least three or more different side dishes, we were given just a few slices of raw onion with a glaze and some yellow pickled daikon radish. The radish tasted like something store bought, and there wasn't really anything that felt homemade or particularly special.
-Samsun Jjampong - The broth had very good flavor, and the noodles were cooked nicely. Overall, a solid bowl of noodles.
-Szechuan Tanmyeon - Similar to the Jjampong, the noodles were cooked well and the dish had good flavor.

Final Thoughts -
Overall, we had a good experience, but Yong Hwa Roo didn't really stand out compared to some of the other Korean restaurants in the area. The staff were excellent and the food we ordered was good, but the dated atmosphere and lack of variety in the banchan held the experience back a bit. I would return to try some of their other dishes, but if I had to choose between this and some of the other Korean restaurants nearby, there are definitely places I'd pick first.“

“The employees were super friendly! The food choices have many options and it seems to mainly be made right there in the restaurant. The perogies weren’t just bought from a warehouse & they were really good! This place has more than wings! I’m regretting not getting more cheesesteak eggrolls because they were so good too. I also got a smoothie (even tho it’s 10 degrees out, I still had to try) and it was great! They must use real fruit because it’s not extra sweet or artificial whatsoever but still worth it!! The building is small with only 2- 4 seat table and a small one with 2 seats. I’m assuming not many people eat here & it’s mainly a take-out restaurant. Regardless, definitely worth trying! Everything was really good 👌🏻 Will eat here again!!! 🫶🏻“

“An unassuming hole in the wall restaurant. Nestled in a kind of sketchy strip mall this hidden gem is worth every penny. I was recommended by a friend and was not disappointed. From the Bonchan to the main dishes the food was amazing! Just be aware sometimes their credit card machine is down so make sure you bring cash. However, the prices are decent for the food you get. For the two of us we spent $45 total with tip. Will definitely be back again!!!“

“This is a true banchan spot, and the kimchi is outstanding.

You can immediately taste the difference—well-balanced seasoning, deep fermentation, and that perfect blend of freshness and richness. It’s not overly salty or sour, just clean, bold, and addictive. The kind of kimchi that makes you want extra rice.

All the side dishes are made with care, but the kimchi alone is worth the visit. It tastes homemade, traditional, and consistently good.

If you appreciate good Korean side dishes, especially excellent kimchi, this place is a must.

“The H Mart in Elkins Park PA is unique in that there are numerous other small businesses in the building. One of them is Ga Yeon Rice Cake! There are many many varieties of rice cake treats. The square has easy parking; though can get a bit busy on the weekend. I would say coming before noon is often a more pleasant experience.

The shop takes credit card, the food the beautifully packaged and the price clearly labeled.

I wouldn't say the customer service is super friendly but honestly I'm there for fresh products, not small talk. 🤷🏻‍♀️ So it doesn't bother me.“
