I freaking love Hopes! My daughter and I have been going for years. We go for the cookies and stay for the ice cream. The staff is usually friendly... even when they're swamped. It should be a national landmark. It's certainly a regional treasure!

The cookies are very good, but please tell your employees that if someone gets a variety of cookies and one of those is lemon, to put the lemon cookie in a different container. We purchased 12 different cookies in a box (with one of them being lemon) and each one tasted like lemon a few hours later when we ate them. Really ruined the flavor of the other cookies.
