“A very cozy place for a Saturday night date. Surprised on how busy it was as it seems pretty quiet during the day so we did not know what to expect. Live music was great and added to the atmosphere. We tried the potato and leek soup which was nicely balanced with tidbits of potato to give it texture rather than a pureed approach. The scotch egg was nicely hot and nice that it allowed the protein to speak for itself without overpowering it with salt or grease. I enjoyed my toad in the hole and the Yorkshire pudding was nicely baked. The gravy with the mashed potatoes was absolutely brilliant. We want to come visit again when we have another date night.“
“We met friends here for lunch on a Saturday. The place was very busy, especially given its fairly small size. The food was great, with the fries being quite delicious. The menu items were rather unique with interesting possibilities. They also have an excellent beer selection. It was a bit more crowded than I prefer, but the staff kept up despite that.“
“I ate at the Merchant Bar tonight with my parents and my 2 young daughters. We came in during the Ladybug Festival to get some dinner and my kids quickly started to get cranky (to put it nicely). Our waitress, clearly an angel on earth, brought over bowls of grape tomatoes that she had sliced in half and cucumbers while we ordered and waited for our food. I was getting overwhelmed and she saved the night by doing that. The food and drinks were also phenomenal. Thank you for the great service and I can’t wait to go back!“

“The food was fantastic - I had a mushroom Swiss burger and they use a mushroom mix of cremini, shitake, portobello. Delicious!!The servers were very nice... I made the embarrassing mistake of putting the tip money back in my purse and then wondering where it went ? Thankfully I at least noticed the money missing and asked another server to see if ours had picked the tip up from the table. (He hadn't ?) I was so embarrassed but they handled the situation so gracefully that I gave him more money than the first time around!“
“Nice restaurant/bar. Had good variety of beers. Food was good and they had couple of Throw Back Thursday specials. Add ons like fried mushrooms and truffle fries can up your bill so be aware of extra costs. But overall a very nice experience.“

“We love coming to Duffers Mill. Always excellent food and friendly service. We had the Buffalo chicken pizza and it was the best we’ve ever had. The Parm crusted Chicken was crispy and flavorful. The Chicken Italiano sandwich was golden crisp and delicious. The icing on the cake was the peanut butter chocolate mousse dessert. Rich and sinfully delicious without being too sweet. Never had a bad meal here. We have brought many friends over the past year and they all have become fans!“
“My wife and came in for dinner about a week ago and had a great experience. Our waitress was prompt and very friendly. We both ordered the same chefs special burger and they were delicious. Like a clone of each other, my wife and I also ordered the same whiskey cocktail that was made to perfection. The bourbon was present yet not overtaken by the other ingredients resulting in a well-balanced cocktail. We will be back again“
“I had a great time at this establishment, meeting with a few friends. It wasn't crowded on a Sunday around 230, making it more intimate. Bill was a great host..drinks were good, food was good. Will be coming back..Thank you Ulysses American Gastropub for having us!!“
“Food was great. However, the service was marginal.it took about 15 for the waitress to get to our table. Our appetizer came out after the main course. Although our waitress was around she didn't visit our table much. This was at 5:15 so they weren't in the dinner rush. All that being said the food was excellent!“
“I don't like the atmosphere as much as the original Two Stones in Newark, but it's still got great food, great beer, great service. Definitely recommended.Update, 2023: My impression of their food has diminished over time, both in terms of quality and creativity. I removed a star to reflect my updated opinion.“
“Drew, our waitress was FANTASTIC!! We had a group of 10 and she handled it effortlessly!Drinks, food and the birthday cake~ all good!Lots of great meal choices and yes....Chicken fingers/fries are available for the kids!! Actually a really nice kids meal tray!!“
“I had wanted to truly thank you for our awesome server and host and cook and bartender. It was a truly dark and stormy night.... torrential downpour. We had planned to meet at a nearby restaurant and were turned away (4 adults and 3 kids) due to size of our party and no one making a reservation thinking our early time frame we would not need one. Well, Saturday night so... we were drenched, the littles were now hungry, unruly to put it politely... love them but yeah, unruly. We were given a large and I might add very clean booth and every member of your staff was so above and beyond incredibly kind, pleasant and understanding. The food was great, hot, reasonably priced for the portions and we will be back. Thanks so much for everything :)“
