Alter House Restaurant offers an excellent night with great atmosphere and top notch food. The pork chop is cooked perfectly, and the sea bass melts on your mouth. Baked oysters are delicious, and the chocolate cake and ice cream for dessert are very good. French press coffee is also excellent. The food is beautifully prepared, farm to table, with gluten free options that are actually exciting and special. The rack of lamb is also very good. The service is personable; guests are greeted pleasantly by the hostess and seated right away. The front of the house manager is very nice. Servers take excellent care of guests, tailoring personal plates for those with food allergies. The sommelier also receives a big shout out. One guest noted that a table request was not honored, which was disappointing as repeat customers. However, overall, the experience is amazing, and it is now a favorite place for dinner. The final touch of bringing out a cake with a sparkler is a great touch. It is by far the best place to go in the area.
