“In a pizza-rich community like NEPA, it’s not easy to offer something new, and it’s even harder to make it good. Gio’s does both. I would describe their pizza as artisan. They have some simple but unique twists on the classics, and some altogether creative options that are almost like an entree on crust. My three personal favorites are the Sourdough Sicilian pizza, Hot Honeybee pizza, and Snow Bark pizza, with the Florida Style pizza receiving an honorable mention. “It's been a year since we've been here. We decided to try it again. So glad we did. New chef, World of different in the food. Pizza was fabulous. Slightly crispy bottom , nice fluffy dough. Very tasty topping the tomato/ cheese blend. Chicken Wings were perfectly done. Beer is still a good fill in the glass. It was also the proper temp this time. Bathrooms were spotless. Help was super pleasant as always. Nice atmosphere.

“What is the difference between tavern and bar? They both serve alcohol, but a tavern is more sophisticated with an “emphasis on the food.”
Town Tavern is a simple by nature, with a long bar and a rear seating area with tables and hi-tops. They keep the menu fairly simple by pub grub standards, with pizza, sandwiches and their next-level wings. As the definition says, an emphasis on food, in this case “the wings.”
Life is short. Tomorrow is never promised, so Eat the Wings! Enjoy yourself. If you consider them a guilty pleasure, you don’t deserve them. I would say “live deliberately” and try the Cajun or Sweet Thai Chili - my favorite two sauces. The wings come in orders of 10, but based on the size and quality of the wing, 10 is plenty. Would love to see a “fleet” of wings similar to beer tasting. Hard to choose from the 34 sauce flavors and six dry rubs.
The cost of the wings are listed on the menu as “market price.” Just like eating a lobster! Regardless of the current price, they are worth every penny.
I have seen a few reviews saying it takes too long. Please, if you want fast food, go to a place that serves it. If you want high quality - crispy wing on the outside and juicy on the inside, tossed in one of their beautiful signature sauces, wait for that level of preparation. Highly recommend a visit to the Town Tavern. An order of ten of their wings and a cold on-tap beer is truly one of life’s simple pleasure. Enjoy yourself, it’s later than you think.“

“I called ahead to inquire about if the food was spicy as I tried the halal spot up the street from them and couldn’t get beyond a fork full because it was WAAYYY too spicy. Figured I’d give these guys a try and THANK God I did!!! Not only was there a huge amount of food but the little kick of spice was not over baring and left space for plenty of favor. I asked for extra white sauce and they delivered on that as well. They were nice accommodating and the food was good. This was my first time goin there so I did call and let them know the food was great and you could tell the guy needed to hear that you could hear him smile through the phone I’m not sure why this place isn’t way busier but trust me it’s worth it! As a New Yorker I think this is the closest you’ll get to NY truck stand halal. I APPROVE!!!“

Everything we have ordered has been truly excellent Geroulo’s sub is a must have (you can never tire of this with its delicious quality shaved steak and deliciously unique sauce and perfectly toasted sub bun We’ve had the unbelievable nachos(made with the Geroulos sub meat, Phili pork sandwich yum, summer salad yum yum, sausage and peppers, pierogis home made and best I’ve had. “We came here for the deep fried gizzards. Not the healthiest but tasty. This is more like a twice a year event. They also have deep fried liver but the gizzards are way better. The portions are generous. Even the small portion can fill you up. The fried chicken is a bit tasteless. The deep fried pies are really good.“
