“Kimmel's is a hidden gem. Known for decades for their amazing donuts, they also offer many other baked items. Located on a side street in a residential area of a small town, they are worth searching for. Ordered a birthday cake for the first time yesterday. Man, was that a mistake. I am now incredibly upset that I missed out on decades of the best cake ever! Ordering was easy with a quick phone call. Not sure what I wanted so the gentleman made several suggestions that helped greatly. The cake was a fluffy, moist white cake with a silky buttercream of the right sweetness. Not cloying at all like some buttercreams. Decorations were beautifully piped. Had a little family tiff over who got the flowers. We all wanted them because the icing was so good. It was a huge hit! Might have been my first cake from them but will not be my last. Also got a dozen donuts for the party which we devoured quickly. The owners are absolute sweethearts. We had a nice chat about being business owners in a small town. Kind of people you just want to have a cup of coffee with while enjoying one of the their filled long John donuts (I recommend the custard filled with maple icing).“
“Got a brown sugar and vanilla latte and a peppermint iced latte with chocolate foam and they were AMAZING. I also got a peppermint chocolate muffin and that was to die for. The baristas were not necessarily friendly or overjoyed to be there but I can tell they work hard. I would 100% recommend this coffee shop as higher quality beans and desserts. However the town around is not much to see or do so I would have a hard time finding a nice afternoon stroll with my coffee.“
“Crystal’s Cakery will by far exceed your expectations! Not only did my daughters cake look awesome but the flavor was phenomenal. I always think a cake either looks good or tastes good, never both- but Crystal completely changed that for us! The cake was delicious and honestly so beautiful. We will never go anywhere else for cakes and bakery items!“
“I wish we found this place sooner. This is our favorite now. Everything is absolutely amazing, real food wow. And the bakery... I bought 2 dozen cookies to take home (not local but vist often) none made it home, I ate them all in the car. yes they are that good. So go for a a great breakfast, with friendly service, and get some goodies to go, maybe some will make it home or not you may find then hard to resist them. also about the cookies I have never ever seen a cookie so perfect as the ones they make. absolutely perfect color and texture. Try and see, but be warned you will not be able to stop eating them.“
“Love this place! They are friendly, and helpful. The food is good. Love everything I have tried. I went in one day on my way home and just wanted a 2 pieces of pizza for lunch. I stood there waiting for help and this lady came in and came right in front of me and took the rest of the pizza. They felt so bad and made me a pizza. Love the meatball sandwich and their bread. If you're ever in New Castle and see Two Fat Guys and an oven stop in, you won't be sorry. Just heads up there a busy place but well worth it!“
“Windy Hill Bakehouse is by far the best bakery in the Pittsburgh area. They made our wedding cake, individual cakes for our anniversaries, she will be doing our baby shower, and we've even gotten some baked goods from them at local get togethers. Every flavor that they have is great and each bite leaves us wanting more. Fortunately, the prices are so good that getting more is pretty easy! Jennette is super easy to work with and every time we see her, she remembers our names and it's fun to catch up while snacking on whatever new goodie she has. I can't recommend Windy Hill Bakehouse enough! If you haven't tried it yet, this is your sign to order something great!“
“I visited today and bought the cream filled long johns donuts and maple nut pastries for me and my husband. They were absolutely delicious. I also bought Easter candy and it was wonderful. This is a hidden gem in New Galilee. They are super nice too.“
“I love popping into this shop from time to time. Sometimes we will grab a treat for someone after visiting the library. The case is always full of different baked goods, you can follow their Facebook page to see what she's whipping up for the day. It smells wonderful and you're supporting a local business.“
