Churchill's Bourbon & Brew Reviews
This is regarding the location inside Turfway Park Racing and Gaming in Florence Kentucky..
Husband and I wanted to come out and watch the band that was there this past Saturday night. Apparently they have a new table service 'rule' in effect. if I understand it correctly, in order to sit at a table and watch the band which doesn't start until 9:30 or later, you MUST order $50 worth of food and or drinks. After the 2 hours that you are there, if you want to stay longer,...read full review
Aaron H working on June 19th 6:00 was outstanding!! The best server we have ever had. Personable, attentive, very friendly and professional. Give this guy a raise!!
I was disappointed that only a third of the menu online was available in the restaurant itself. After seeing the quality of the food being brought to tables while we decided what we wanted, I'm glad we just did tenders with fries. Also, plastic silverware? Tacky.

Churchill's Bourbon & Brew offers a neat environment with a great view of the track, especially during live racing. The atmosphere is nice and clean. While not fine dining, what they do, they do well. The menu includes items like French onion soup, Caesar salad, burgers, sandwiches, chili salmon, burnt ends, steak, and classic ST. Louis Style BBQ. Portions are large. The French onion soup is good, the salad is fresh, and the steak is cooked to perfection. The fish is cooked proper. However, the fries are coated with spices, which is not indicated on the menu. Some items, like a small draft beer, are considered overpriced.
Service experiences vary. Servers can be polite, attentive, and great, with food orders taken quick and arriving together and correct. However, service is often very slow due to being understaffed. Staff, including bartenders, are frequently overextended, having to cover multiple roles like bringing out food orders. This is a management issue. There have been significant problems with hostess stand management regarding reservations and a lack of support from supervisors, leading to customer frustration. Despite service inconsistencies, many would visit again and recommend it.
