“For those who enjoy Indian food, I highly recommend Bombay to Burgh. This "home cooking" restaurant came highly recommended by our neighbors as well as @alexeatstoomuch. It's a small place in Swissvale, just a few minutes off the Parkway East. We opted for the Sunday buffet. Plenty of selections and a VERY reasonable price! The food was excellent!“

“Incredible and authentic chaat! My husband was born and raised in India and we have always said that we wished there was somewhere in Pittsburgh that just sold chaat and snack items. We were blown away by the pani puri and the Bombay sev sandwich. The restaurant gives you a proper Indian dhaba feel. Will definitely be back and will recommend to our friends!“

“Good Bangladeshi food option. One should try out the buffet. Gyro and chicken samosas are pretty good. Pocket friendly. The service is good and the staff are very polite and helpful. They also take catering orders, so if you plan to throw a Bangladeshi or an Indian party you can hire them.“

“So this tiny little spot is bright and cheerful despite being intimate in size. We were greeted immediately upon entry with a smile. They had to clear a table for us, but waited less than 2 minutes. The tables are snugly fit, so make sure you are ready to be close with your neighbors. But honestly, this was not bothersome. We partook of the lunch buffet. The selection was beyond compare. We have eaten at Indian buffets before and it's usually 3-4 entrees and a couple other items. This buffet was stocked. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten free options, a small raw salad bar, probably 10 different entrees. The paneer dish was dreamy. There was a chicken kebab that was smoky, tender, well seasoned and delightful. Samosas, naan, 2 types of rice. All worthy of note. The bottomless supply of hit chai and mango drink hit the spot with the right spice levels and cooling levels for this girl who is generally not a fan of Indian food and I often feel chai is too much spice I liked this one so much I took a to go cup.And then there is dessert. 4 choices, each rivalling the next. I have to say the mango mousse took it home for me.This is a definite keeper for me“

“Masala House catered an event for 15 people and everyone was very pleased. The food was plentiful and delicious (chicken tikka masala, saag paneer, chana masala, vegetable vindaloo and garlic naan) and ready exactly when they said it would be. Suresh and his team were kind and professional. We would definitely ask them to cater again.“

“Excellent lunch spot for Indian food! Friendly staff that can explain clearly the menu including accurately depicting spice level. I had their Chicken biryani lunch special and it came in the perfect portion size along with the vegetable side (green beans). Price was very good as well as a bonus! Clean and quiet, highly recommend for a casual lunch in Pittsburgh“

“Usually go to Indian restaurant on McKnight road for lunch buffet, but decided to try this as it’s in the neighborhood. Not much in the way of ambience/no music/no decor. But the food is fantastic! Very tasty, well prepared. Looks like a family run business and everyone takes pride in what they do. And it’s always a good sign when you see Indian patrons eating at an Indian restaurant.“

“Great food and good portions. I’ve never had palak paneer with tomato curry before but it was really good. Just what I needed on this dreary Pittsburgh day. Also they had a sign on the truck apologizing for raising their prices. Idk what that’s about because I got a large entree (curry, rice, and naan) and a drink for less than $10 and the food is gonna last me another meal.“

“the food is pretty good... but the service is Horrible!! Super slow... no smiles or greetings if you're not Indian. One guy waits on the whole dining room is completely rude and non-verbal... I decided to order to-go last night instead of being ignored in the dining room again and they said 40 minutes... I waited an hour and a half for it! the guy tried to put a Diet Coke for free instead of an apology... I dont even drink Diet Coke. The food is fine but they dont care about the customers at all!“

“Anyone who knows me, knows I love supporting small local businesses. The food was outstanding, but I was surprised at the plastic flatware/napkin in a sealed plastic bag and not real stainless steel flatware. Prices were inline with other Indian restaurants I have been to. Unfortunately, it's street parking in an already crowded street because of apartments. Would I recommend? Absolutely. Would I go back in the future? You bet I would!“

“Best Tandoori chicken around! If you're not sure you will like it, I recommend you check out the buffet on Saturday when you can try a variety of dishes. There is a lot of overlap with Indian food, but it is unique. Just be aware that meat is their specialty (especially chicken!) So if you are looking for a good variety of non-meat dishes, there is another well-known place just up the road where you can also find that. We are blessed with so many good options here in Pittsburgh... but in my opinion, Kebab King is one of the best!“

“Quarantine 2020 Review: One of my technicians and I were completing some work at a business a few doors down from Taste of India. The owner was nice enough to allow us to park in his parking lot and during a break, the delightful smells of the kitchen drew us into the restaurant. I ordered three orders of Butter Chicken and Garlic Nan to go. It was very reasonably priced and they not only brought it to us at our job site, but threw in some dessert. The food was excellent - its some of the best Butter Chicken I have had. Also, the friendliness and service was outstanding. Taste of India is definitely worth the visit for take out during the Quarantine and I am looking forward to going back once life gets back to normal to try the rest of the menu. Highly Recommend this place!“
