“Very clean, excellent and kind waitress n server, and the food was perfect. This is definitely my new favorite dinner. I find so many waitresses these day are so rude but at this place especially at the dinner down the street from here, but this place i felt that hospitality and kindness that is rare these days, I believe its run by a family another rare thing these days. I highly recommend this small home town dinner 👌“

“Came in for lunch and had a lovely visit. My coffee was served in my own individual carafe, which was a very nice touch. I was assured that if I finished the whole carafe, which held about 3 mugs full, refilling it would be included in the price.

For food, we started with the chicken gumbo which was only okay; there was no roux so it was more like chicken and rice soup with a little bit of Cajun seasoning. Then we had a Reuben, which was decent and a chicken Parm grinder that was a little disappointing due to a cheap and soggy hoagie roll. Both came with a generous portion of fries.

We'll certainly be back, but we'll probably order from the breakfast side of the menu next time.“

“My wife and I had lunch there today I had the chicken fried steak and my wife had the chicken panni and French onion soup. The food was excellent the server Hailee was very good and very professional. She was also very friendly and very cute. If you are close to there definitely stop in.“

“Can’t count how many times we’ve been here but here is my review of Silk City.

The food was excellent. Can’t go wrong in any order. Loved the ambiance. The drinks were good. It’s good to have a reservation as this place gets packed every time, but they could accommodate you to the diner section. Service at the diner section usually takes longer. Lots of parking around the area, but it’s better if you take Lyft or Uber. Staff were amazing and really friendly.

We will always go back to this place.“

“We had our semi-annual breakfast there once again. As usual, great food and service. We had Jessica and Courtney , our regular waitresses, they are great. All the guys love them. They handled 41 Sears TractorTrailer drivers - no problem. We’ll be back in six months (4/11/25). At the end some of us waited for this picture.“

“After being ignored at Koffe Korner in Lansdale our family decided to go to American Star Diner for breakfast. We were welcomed with great hospitality by their staff and our food was delicious. We have been there other times for lunch but needless to say we will be coming back more often for breakfast. Thank you!“

“This Diner is the best diner I have ever gone to in my life. It has been operating since 1937 and is an original. I love it! It is absolutely 100% genuine, and should be kept open and running as it is a place of absolute history too. I hope it remains to be open and running past it's 100 birthday and that future generations can experieince something real and genuine, the real American Diner as it was from the time it opened till now. “I used to come here with my mom and brother back in the '90s, and the food was fantastic and the service was excellent. I haven't been here in years, but I ride by there a lot and it doesn't seem the same as it used to, but because of the nostalgia, it'll always have a special place in my heart“

“This was my first time eating at Ritz Diner. The place was clean, the service was super fast and friendly, and the food was fresh and delicious! Look at how fresh the toppings are on the cheesesteak. The salad bar was bery fresh and the soup was yummy. This will be my go to place to eat in north east Philly in the future. I didn't get the name of our waitress, but she did a great job.“

“Let me start by saying don't go in here expecting a traditional restaurant experience. This is an old school, fast paced, self-serve/take-out style diner that is CASH ONLY (has an ATM). That, however, is EXACTLY what I want for good breakfast on a busy weekday morning. And good doesn't begin to describe it. Staff are a well oiled machine used to a very busy fast-paced environment who are there to get your order, give you your food, and let you move on with your day.
Now the food. Let me say, it isn't hard to make good home fries, but these were AMAZING. Onions and peppers in perfectly made home fries with perfect consistency and a taste to die for. No need to season them as they were perfectly seasoned. In my almost 41 years of life, these are the best damned home fries I've ever had! My eggs were made perfectly over medium with wonderful runny yolk like I love them and were wonderfully flavorful. Sausage patties were delicious as well, partner got pancakes that were fluffy and sweet even before the butter and syrup. Excellent diner, fast service. For anyone that likes this kind of place, it is up there for best ever!“

“I visited this eatery long, long, long ago. It was good then and it is good now, overall. The server was a true professional. She was stretched really thin, but handled it like a trooper. She forgot a couple items but was well spoken and sincere. We and others could easily see how much she was challenged. A big crowd came in right away. Again, she handled the entire early afternoon well. I showed her my appreciation by giving her a reasonable gratuity...There was a delay in someone else not receiving his meal-a simple breakfast sandwich-within 30 minutes. He exclaimed his frustration accordingly. The Good working female server was clearly not being supported as well as she deserved, and I do not know exactly why...“
