“Sandwiches are sold by the pound, our you NUTS? So your saying my guarantee is I'll NEVER get ripped off and I can order it heavy or light? I like this idea. Not conventional but maybe everyone should follow suit here. This is something I experienced in Florence by the way. so if the quality is there, then quit your whining, and LOOSEN UP I say! Publishing fixed prices with the way the cost of food goods are fluctuating like gas prices is a huge waste of time and money for small business! A small business owner who usually doesn't have enough time in the day as it is, should simply adopt the concept. It probably saves a ton of money and time, I get it, I applaud the notion! Everything was wonderful!”

“Very cozy atmosphere. Great food, service time was great. Our waiter explained everything really well. It’s hard to come by good Italian food in the poconos but this place was one of the best. Perfect for date night or a special occasion.”

“I wandered on one day out of curiosity to see what Grandma had & I was hooked! Everything was so tasty, made to perfection. Among my favorites are the Lobster tails, with the most scrumptious, creamy filling & wonderful buttery layers, the apple turnovers & the Bearcats. Every single thing I've tried has been addictive. I'm looking forward to their re-opening in February. I've missed Grandma's yummy goodies. So glad I found this place, it's one of a kind perfection.”

“We are visiting in the area and had dinner here - the garlic parm crusted haddock was super flavorful and came with mashed potatoes and delicious sautéed veggies. My daughter loved the Mac and cheese and the cheesecake was also very good. The owners/staff are very friendly and helpful, this is a little gem for sure.”
“My husband & I organized a little 3 nite get-away to Woodloch Resort (Pines area) for ourselves, 3 other couples & one single friend. We are all in our 60s so everyone has had years to solidly determine they like their creature comforts. We are a pretty well-traveled group so some not easily impressed. Hubby, myself & our single friend have all been to Woodloch a few times & love it! We have never visited in November & hoped there would be enough for us to do. Planning to please 6 other adults left us with fingers-crossed, as inevitably there is always someone who feels a restaurant, hotel, etc. didn't quite meet their expectations. However for this trip, every person LOVED it!! The check-in is not until 5:00 pm but we were allowed to get our wristbands & enjoy the amenities of the resort while we waited for a text that our room was ready. The 3 couples each had Deluxe Lakeview accommodations in the Greenbriar bldg., attached to main building. They were thrilled with the beautiful view each morning from their room or while on their private balcony/patio. They were able to walk to the dining room, night club/show area, sports bar, or lobby which was our usual meeting point, all without going outside. They were right there for mini-golf, bocci, etc. For those traveling with kids it is close to the big playground, water slide in summer or snowtubing in winter, pedal boats or rowboats. My husband, friend & I shared an Edgewater Suite which had a full kitchen, a large bedroom with 2 queen beds, living room with pull out sleeper couch which my friend said was comfortable (but that's based on someone who regularly falls asleep lying on her couch - LOL) & a washer & dryer. Very spacious. It was a little bit of a walk to the main bldg which was no issue for hubs & me but my friend has walking issues. No problem there - there were 3 shuttles that ran right up until midnight. Never a long wait & at times we called the front desk if we knew she just missed it & another shuttle was immediately dispatched. When she asked an employee for a safe way to walk down to the pontoon boat ride as to not go down a somewhat steep walkway they offered to call for a golf cart ride & were right there with it. The one word to describe every employee would be "Accommodating!" Now, of course, food is also important. We had a meal plan that included breakfast & dinner. Both meals each day were plentiful, very good, good variety (breakfast standard crowd-pleasers of eggs any style, home fries, bacon/sausage/turkey bacon, & their homemade bread & morning cake (amazing crumb cake one day, an apple crumb another, etc.), or egg white frittata for those seeking a healthier alternative, just to name a few. Dinner always had homemade soup, family style serving of salad & veggie plus 4 entree choices that included an option for non-meat eaters. Of course, those delicious homemade breads were right there for the taking. Even when stuffed you must try their made-on-premises creamy ice cream. So delicious! The wait staff was attentive & pleasant. Jorge was our waiter for the first couple of days & just the nicest guy always greeting us even when not assigned to our table. Although lunch was not in our plan there was a Deli at the Inn at Woodloch that we visited each day. Homemade soup was great & a large choice of made to order sandwiches The sandwich price was generally a reasonable $10 & for the amt on that sandwich & given the fact Boars Head cold cuts are used I felt that was more than fair. Those with a family could always buy cold cuts & fresh Italian bread from another deli/store by the gas station within the resort premises & make their own. Each room has a fridge. There were plenty of activities: Name that Tune, Minute to Win it, bocci, mini-golf, pedal boats still operating in this cool weather, Go-Carts, & these senior citizens even went into child mode & did the bumper cars! We tried archery which Kayne was manning. He showed the ”

“It has been a long time since I've been excited about somewhere to eat locally. As much as I love living in this neighborhood there really aren't a lot of options when it comes to going out somewhere to eat and not driving too far. Tonight for my birthday I had the absolute pleasure of eating at the Hunter Valley Restaurant. I had seen the advertisements for it on Facebook and had been wanting to try but tonight was definitely the night and it was one of the best birthday meals I've ever had. We began with a warm cup of tea black for me and green for Eric and I absolutely adore getting hot beverages and clear glasses and the large the glass size was wonderful. The menu has so many options, even if you have picky eaters you are bound to find something for everyone. For an appetizer we ordered mushroom Julianne and the generous size could have fed 4 people picking at it. My first bite I audibly cursed out loud because the flavor was absolutely incredible!! Creamy full bodied goodness!! I knew right away our meals were going to be just as good.. but I was wrong.. they were EVEN BETTER! I knew I wanted shrimp but wanted Alfredo instead of scampi and the chef graciously made the substitution. Erik ordered the French Crockpot Venison stew. Again the size of the portions for both of our meals were very impressive and the flavor of each was so perfectly complete! I almost did a reenactment of the scene from when Harry met Sally... yes *that* scene. YUM! I never had to reach for the salt, which for me never happens, because it needed nothing. Erik said the Venison stew had a slight kick but had the perfect balance of spice and flavor and needed nothing else. There was a ton of meat and it wasn't a stew where it was overloaded with veggies and you're searching for the meat, quite the opposite. If you're not eating here I'm sure what your doing with your life. We don't go out to eat often but we'll be starting from now on because I'll do anything to keep this little Gem of a restaurant open! Oh and YES... they DELIVER!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?!?!”

“I cannot speak to the food but I can speak to the character. It is Memorial Day 2024. Mom driving alone with autistic toddler has a tire blow out and pulls over right by this diner. Called triple A and no one to be found to help me, toddler freaking out and I’m beside myself crying because there was nowhere open to get a new tire. Called around and around and finally in absolute desperation went into the diner to see if anyone had the number of the attached garage who might be able to help. “Sorry, he’s having a baby today!” was the response. Cue more crying… suddenly, angel waitress says “no no don’t cry! It’s ok.. one second”… and a gentleman comes out to take a look. Turns out he is the husband of the owner. He opened the garage, for me- a stranger who never heard of eldred or the diner- and changed the entire tire. Then refused a penny in payment. Ok, I sent my son in to buy drinks so he could leave a big tip- also wouldn’t accept it. These people are utter gold. I don’t have enough words of thanks to give them, maybe you do by going in there and sharing support with them. Thank you Irene. Thank you Jesse. Thank you Irene’s diner team, you have no idea how grateful I am. Thank you. Thank you!”

“Opening night 6/17/22 for summer of 2022. New summer menu, delicious apps and dinner choices. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with roasted peppers and cheese and my husband had the ahi tuna, both outstanding. Thanks for a wonderful dinner and fun night with great music!”

“The food here is very hit or miss, though the servers are very attentive and the atmosphere is pleasant, looking out the windows at the golf course. The chicken in the chicken salad was overcooked/hard/dry, and there was not allot of it, on the sandwich which was mostly an overly large croissant. They have good fries, though. My wife liked her asian salad, i agrred that it tasted good, but not a lot of imagination put into it.
Vegetarian options: Multiple entree salad selections.
Parking: Easy parking.”
“I used the liquor store here twice; it's quaint but not a lot of room for stock or variety. They stopped carrying Coconut Cartel so I won't drive out of my way to go here anymore but it's not because the store is a bad place.
Parking: Parking is very limited; there are a few spaces in a small lot around the corner. I've never seen more than that.”

“Our host recommended Carini for dinner and it did not disappoint! Food was hot, seafood plentiful, portions large, and overall delicious. We had hot antipasto, chicken saltibocca, zuppa di peche. and homemade gelato to finish the meal. We took leftovers home. Our server was polite and attentive managing a busy dinner by herself! A great experience!”
“Spontaneously stopped by after rafting with friends and family. We were all hungry so we didn’t have much expectation but wow. The big river nacho was HUGE and delicious! Ordered 3 different flavored wings among other items. All the food was scrumptious! It took a bit for the beer to come out but overall we were all satisfied.”
