Upon arriving we were greeted warmly and escorted to an exquisitely decorated dining room, the lighting reminiscent of candle light. We didn't' have to wait long for our appetizers. The beet salad was a heavenly combination of red and golden beets , their sweetness enhanced with a blue cheese and a drizzle of balsamic dressing. We had been going to the MainLand Inn for dinner for many years and it was one of our favorite restaurants, and we were extremely upset when they had closed down. We waited for such a long time for a nice restaurant to take its place and let me tell you, the Mallard restaurant absolutely blew us away in so many respects. We first dined at Mallard about 3-4 weeks after they opened. This is a second time back and they are definitely on their game. The facility is beautiful, the service was on point, and the food was superb. Mallard is definitely worth the trip.
