“Driving past on our way from Virginia to Maine we stopped at Cabana's for dinner. Such a pleasant surprise. We were greeted at the door with genuine smiles and a hearty welcome! The food was excellent - all fresh! The staff were so helpful and friendly. We plan on returning on our next trip through the area. Highest recommendation! “I was fortunate enough to be introduced to this café by a Dominican coworker. Since moving to Hazleton I have been disappointed by the seemingly total lack of cafés in the area. I love it here! The coffee is delicious and everything is made fresh, not left out sitting in display cases. We also tried some pastolitos (honestly not sure how to spell that!), and they were excellent. The dining area is bright, comfortable, immaculately clean, and very welcoming. Highly recommended!”

“Very Cozy and Clean Restaurant. Delicious Food and Great Drinks! Cafe Colao (Freshly Brewed Coffee) was amazing! Must check this diamond in the rough. Friendly and attentive staff. From the outside you cant tell its a full blown restaurant/ bar. Once inside you will be shocked on the space area. Free off street parking. Very spacious and roomy inside. Large Bar with plenty of stools to sit and sip. They do not currently take cards for payment. CashApp or Zelle payments only.”

In addition, there is a room for events, an alcohol license and karaoke every Thursday from 9:00 pm. They also prepare services for Buffett and events of all kinds.....”

“Unbelievable meatballs! And I rarely eat meatballs anywhere. My daughter-in-law was the smartest of the four of us-she ordered the meatball hoagie. Then she gave us all bites of the meatballs! Wow!! I couldn’t believe how good they were. Absolutely terrific! Stop in and try it! You won’t be sorry! Bring cash as they don’t use credit cards. It’s not expensive. I won’t be in Hazleton again without stopping here! Thank you Third Base!!”

“Disappointed with my most recent experience. I come here a lot and always did because it was always very consistent and I always knew I would get a good meal and service. Well last night the service was not good but I can understand that. There were few waitresses on and it was busy. To start we ordered the long hots for an appetizer but they came out as just long hots and not stuffed as it said under starters. When asked about this we were told that the plain long hots are an appetizer and the stuffed ones are an entree but I looked at the menu and could only find the stuffed long hots. Bread was not given to us, we had to ask for it which normally isn’t the case it usually comes out right after your order is taken. I had ordered the antipasto with steak and they used to be huge. Last night it was small and there was barely any lunch meat on it. I also ordered it with steak. They used to be normal steak cuts, the steak on it last night was over cooked and looked like the scraps I cut off a steak to save for my dog. I also asked for no olives and balsamic dressing and it came out covered in black olives and with Italian dressing. The waitress also took my salad while I was still eating it and asked if I was still eating it while she already had it in her hand. Very disappointed and don’t know if we’ll be back for a while.”

“Stopped in for a quick one, actually two, on a very hot day. Met Bill, a very nice, older gentleman/owner. No one else was there, so Bill gave me the rundown on the last 30 years. Very interesting. Also, the draught beer was nice and cold. Nice place, for a quick one, or two!”

No lines or long wait for service, Being so we were out of town we found this great Meetup spot with the greatest atmosphere (cool calm and collected) ever for their regular customers that was already at the coffee stop pleasant to be around. There is a parking lot and shares that space with a laundromat. Service was excellent, food soooo good, drinks were delicious 1000/1000. Please try the French toast bagel is amazing. “Excellent food! I ordered the My Salad, seafood salad. One of the best seafood salads I ever had. Also, ordered supreme stromboli and Italian hoagie for family. Food was ready for pick up and no problems. Route 309 Pizza will, definitely, be our favorite spot, for Italian food. Well done.”

“The food was great, hot and fresh! They had a seafood empanada that was delicious. The outer crust was light and crispy and just right. Perfect my french fries were hot and crispy too. I recommend their location on Luzerne Street near the Price Rite Marketplace, at the 600 block of Luzerne St.

Had a nice selection of games......coin pusher, pool, darts and even an electric beer pong machine among others. Staff was nice and place was extremely clean also. It's 100% a bar so expect the bar scene, people and environment.

“I very much enjoyed visiting this store 2 weeks ago. I bought and am still enjoying T&L's pierogies, farmer's cheese and sauerkraut. Farmer's cheese is hard to come by and to me, is more traditional than potato and cheese. These are nicely made and generously filled. I was equally delighted to try their kolbasy "Lonczynski's". Nicely seasoned, it harkens back to local favorite Green View Meats that no longer exists. The taste of of this kolbasy brought me back. You never forget the flavors that you grew up with. Pay T&L a visit in downtown Hazleton, or buy their pierogies in local stores such as Boyers. Wegmans also carries. I can speak definitively on the kolbasy's availability. You should be able to buy at the Chestnut St. store. The owner recommends placing orders for holidays such as Easter. I'm delighted to have a new Hazleton business to add to my errands whenever I'm in town.”

That being said, I didn't like the food, and the atmosphere seemed cleaned, and quiet ? I would certainly try again, but this time with my usual order for Chinese food. “Longo's bakery has a lot of good stuff, mostly pizza. There is one unique item, pitza. Pitza is square pizza made with sauce and cheese. Not the mozzarella cheese that is hot and gooey. It is more like the cheese that one would pour out of a can. I am not a fan of cold pizza but the pitza is definitely unique. I like the taste. The sauce is slightly spicy, very slightly and there is more than one cheese. The dough is chewy, different and unique from the usual hot crusty with lots of big whole dough in hot pizza. The prices are reasonable. Longo's also makes "regular" pizza. The staff is very friendly.”

The fried plantains were very good and the different rices were a welcome surprise. The young woman behind the counter could not have been nicer. She was upbeat and truly eager to help. She took the time to explain each of the dishes to us. I was glad to see both of the women behind the counter had their hair back and covered. The other diners appeared to be regulars, who were all genuinely happy to see each other. There is a real feeling of community. They all tried to make us feel welcome. If you find yourself in Hazleton, by all means go. If you live in Hazleton, go, or order delivery.”
