“Me and my wife stopped by for the famous wings with house made sauce, It was super packed, only reason for giving a four star for service was because you had to go to the bar to get a menu and ask for service.

But with understanding they were very packed. The wings were very good and I would make a trip back for sure.“

“This place was a pick for us after we had a reservation at a restaurant that ended up being absolute garbage. We passed this place on the way to the other place and went back here after being ignored at the other place for 20 min. This place was friendly, inviting and the food was good. A good amount of options on the menu. The staff was nice and took care of us. The reason for the 4 stars was because they are a bar and my friend ordered a lightly dirty martini with olives and after awhile we were told they had no olives which was not our servers fault of course. Shouldn't offer dirty martini's if you have no olives. Other than that the price point, food and server we had were great. I wish I remembered her name.“

“My niece recommended the food from this place. As a self proclaimed foodie i had to see for myslef. The establishment opens to patrons at 7pm it was clean and I was greeted with smiles and warm hellos from the staff. The spicy mussel bowl was full of flavor and the portion size acceptable. The fish was fried perfectly, crispy with a flacky moist inside well seasoned (no obey thank you), the vegetable rice flavorful not dry, the collard greens needs a little work but we're seasoned well. Overall the food was delicious. Shout out to Chris who prepared the food. So if you're ordering take-out or eating in make sure Chris is in the kitchen.“

“I come here fairly regularly with my running group. This a great neighborhood bar, the owner is awesome and super friendly. The food is also better than you'd expect for a dive bar, but it still has the dive bar charm. This is easily my favorite bar up the hill in Manayunk“

And this may be a best-kept secret but the roast pork sandwich with long hots will CRUSH 90% of those in South Philadelphia. Bartenders need to learn how to work the remote for the music , It is Bose system that you can adjust for each end of the bar and the right channel is off along with the bass . lol I always listen to music when I am there .“

“My son and I made a point to visit this Bar and Grill when holidaying through the USA just short of 12 months ago and are still talking about how great that night was. we have the same name but are not related and never been there previously but the welcoming and service from all concerned was outstanding.“

“Holy cow! Honest to God, the most amazing service, (we came for drinks and then for brunch) with actual personal service and thoughtfulness. Brunch was THE MOST AMAZING food I have ever tasted. I kept talking about Michelin stars because of the blend of flavors and presentation! “This was our first time at the mermaid inn. When they first seated us, they put us all the way in the back near the kitchen which I was not happy about but I asked the hostess if there was a different table that we could move to and she was able to switch us to a much better location. The waiter was fantastic. He was so personable and had great suggestions. I had the fish tacos which were good and felt like a lot of food. My husband had the clam chowder and lobster roll (Connecticut style /hot with butter instead of with mayo and cold). We didn't have room for dessert. The drinks were sweet but good.“

“This place used to be my favorite but it’s gone down since I first started coming at least ten years ago. It took us almost 20 mins to get cashed out and even longer to get a drink from the bar. They didn’t have wings the last time I went and the back bar was closed. They need a Philly School District Calendar to add extra staff when there will be an early dismissal“
