“I have been stopping at this bar on the weekend for the past six years when I come to Kulpmont to visit my parents. The menu has not changed, and the food is great. I have had a cheesesteak and wings cooked by Joe the owner, and burgers from Nancy. She has been there since I started coming in and has been nice, and funny. We got to know each other on a personal level from years of repeatedly stopping in. I have been in on a Sunday night and the younger blonde girl was bartending. She was very nice and had my next drink ready ASAP. That aside, the past few times I have stopped in were not as they use to be. I have been taking my parents to appointments and stopping at the bar in the middle of the week. The new bartender with white hair, I believe her name is Kelly, is not to my liking, and from talking to other customers sitting near me, they agree. She leaves the bar for moments at a time and people in the bar sit waiting for new drinks. I have waited over five minutes twice in one sitting. She complains a lot, and has been seen outside smoking while customers wait inside for drinks. She does not strike up much conversation with anyone at the bar. Not a welcoming feel from her. I will not be stopping in during the week anymore. I would give a higher star service rating if I had not encountered Kelly. The four star rating is thanks to the owner Joe. Back to my weekend stop ins only.”

“We needed a bite to eat after visiting Knoebel's, but didn't want to travel far and didn't want a big meal from a chain restaurant. Found this quiet, clean and friendly place. It was late at night, but the food was made fresh and we were made to feel very welcome. Definitely will stop in again when we're in the area.”

“I just went to Big Dan's BBQ yesterday and it is the best! I’ve had BBQ in Arkansas, Colorado, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas and Virginia, these ribs and brisket are the best I’ve tasted. Everything has that genuine smoky flavor through and through, including the chicken drumsticks and pulled pork, and then you can add any of their 6 homemade sauces. “Not only is the ice cream tasty, but it comes in a massive portion. The water mill is a cute touch and is a great focal point for kids and adults alike. They have a good variety of flavors here, but not so many that you stress yourself trying to choose. If you're visiting the park and you're looking for ice cream this place is worth the visit.”

“First time here and it was so good! The gentleman recommended the street tacos and they were so delicious! The salsa had a nice kick to it and the rice and beans that came on the side were a great pairing with the tacos. Definitely coming back :)”

There's a vestibule but the doors easily accommodate even a wide wheelchair. Just don't go doing any wheelies or burnouts in there.”

“Small bake shop in Coal Township but they make some of the best cakes. Over the summer I got a cake made for an end of summer party at work and they made it happen with amazing quality and design! It's also a friendly environment every time. Reasonably priced products as well. I'm glad they kept this shop open!”

“Very crowded (good for them). Maybe should have more than 2 people behind bar on nights like that night, they had a live band. Very hard to get served. People were getting served before us consistently, not sure why. We are members, just at a different lodge, but no one knew this because it was open to the public that night. Guess I shouldn't have worn my cloak of invisibility, haha. Overall the live band was a good plan, but painfully executed with great difficulty. I felt bad for the 2 women behind the bar trying to keep up with everyone, it was non-stop. We've been thinking about switching our membership to this one. Still not sure. But having events like this would bring us out more, that's for sure. Definitely they need more than 2 people behind the bar in the future.”

I don't like kale but this was good.. the tater soup was tender and delicious too.. the chef salad was fresh and crisp, I even ate some of the cucumbers! “Phenomenal little bakery, with reasonable prices and something for everyone. Staff are super friendly and about as sweet as the baked goods themselves. “A clean and updated bar. Plenty of parking. Huge menu and good food. Known for their burgers, wings (20 sauces!), and cheesesteaks (now why would they ruin the latter by adding lettuce and tomatoes and calling it a "California"?). Enjoy!”
