Monk made bagels are wonderful!
Great history lesson along with some wonderful very locally produced grain items.
The historic Saint Vincent Gristmill, built by Benedictine monks in 1854, still grinds flour the old-fashioned way for use in breads and other baked goods sold at the mill store and used by local producers today. Monks continue the tradition of stone‑ground grain for bread like the “St. Vincent Bread” that helped sustain the community in the 19th century, and the gristmill remains a museum and general store preserving western Pennsylvania’s agricultural heritage.
