“Every evening, I get hot tea from the restaurant. For the first time, a sweet, cheerful employee named Madeline gave me my tea in two separate cardboard cups. When I asked her about this thoughtful gesture and thanked her, she said, “It’s very hot and we didn’t have a cup holder, so I thought I should give you two cups.” You’re quite lucky to have such a considerate employee, and I’m very grateful to her—her cheerful demeanor remains intact.“

“I don’t know about the day shift workers, but I give you guys 5 stars because of your closer I think her name is Alicia .. well she’s AMAZING!! Me and my bf came late at night to get food and she explained how they can’t make quesadillas because of the steamer, so we made replacements and our food came out hot and she gave us tons of sauce. And she was nice. Thank you!!!“

“We’ve been talking about visiting Fogwood & Fig for years. At first, we thought it was predominantly a dessert place based on their social media posts. But the more we looked into the menu, the more excited we became. I would say their specialty is burgers and sandwiches. Virtually every ingredient is made from scratch daily (except the sourdough bread, from a local farm), including impressive items like multiple types of burger patty and cheesy cashew sauce. We were so excited about their food that we went three days in a row!

Day 1: The Fogwood smoky burger was outstanding. The BLT was also delicious; we loved the smoke salted tofu. For a lighter option, we got the sunshine curry quinoa chickpea bowl. It was healthy and nutritious, although I felt the flavor profile was a bit off; it was heavy on the curry powder and weirdly sweet. The side of mac and cheese was GREAT. We loved the sauce made from sweet potatoes, carrots, and cashews (I think it was oil-free). Not heavy or creamy, just flavorful and good! For dessert, we got the lavender almond cupcake which we LOVED. It was gluten-free, although you wouldn’t guess it. It had a perfect fluffy texture and great nuanced flavor. We loved that it wasn’t made with coconut oil (just olive oil). Truly special. The vast majority of their desserts (as well as their homemade cheeses) do contain coconut oil.

Day 2: The patty melt sandwich was a big hit. Incredible flavor. The Levi Reuben served over greens (instead of on bread) was also delicious. We loved the fennel sage patty and the homemade sauerkraut. We got the kids’ PB&J as a snack which was SO good with homemade peanut butter and homemade raspberry jam. Very impressive. Lastly, we couldn’t resist getting the signature Snickers-inspired bar, which was so good it should be illegal.

Day 3: We were excited to try their daily special, the teriyaki chili rice bowl, made with homemade ginger tofu patties. It was delicious, although it could have used some greens. We tried two more of their burgers to explore the menu further, the flirty burger and the teriyaki burger, and both were great. A devastating disappointment came when, even though we walked in within 10 minutes of their opening, they had already sold out of the special dessert advertised on their Instagram, the carrot spice cupcake with pecan glaze, the only dessert they had that was coconut-free. It seems like they inexplicably only make 4-6 cupcakes per day and then don’t make more even if they sell out?! (Who does that??)

Overall, we loved the food and are so glad they exist. Major props for making so many things from scratch. We really appreciated how nothing was fried or greasy, really hard to find these days. They also deserve special mention for having top-notch service. All the employees were so kind and accommodating, and every dish came out quickly and made to perfection. The vibe of the restaurant is really peaceful and would be an equally good spot to have a quick meal or to linger all day.“

“Wendy's is always the place and Is actually the only place that stays open late until 1 a.m by us. Only problem is this location is right next to a major movie theater which lots and lots of kids go to and get out of and walk straight to Wendy's. Only problem is all these kids don't have car and can't go to the drive through which is the only way you can order that late. This location seriously needs to consider keeping open the walk on service because Me and my husband on several occasions witnessed over 20 kids with money being turned away because they couldn't order because they didn't have a car. Now this happens every night. Its summer time. Ohh and there's also a tesla charging station almost touching this location as well and many yikes qeve been sitting there eating watching people try to order food when charging their cars late at night while traveling but they cant because the drive thru is only open. So they get turned away as well. It would be a great thing to do for all these kids and a win for the company Monterey wise.“

“My wife and I rocked up to BK in Port Jervis like two people who’d already lost the will to cook.

Playlist? Absolute bangers. Service? Lightning. The nice lady took our order (Whopper meal, chicken sandwich, cheesy bites). 4 minutes and 39 seconds later the food appeared (yes, I timed it, and yes, my wife judged me the entire time).

Food: exactly what it says on the tin. Whopper tasted like 1997 called and wants its nostalgia back. Cheesy bites = lava-hot joy bombs. Chicken sandwich = fine, whatever, moving on. No forks provided; we went full caveman and used our hands like the elegant adults we are.

We briefly considered dessert, gazed upon the calorie Mount Everest we’d just climbed, looked at each other, and simultaneously whispered “absolutely not.” My jeans were already staging a quiet protest.

Solid tunes, Olympic speed, zero judgment when we murdered a forest of napkins. Port Jervis BK didn’t change our lives, but it absolutely fed us in record time and made us laugh.

Five stars for efficiency, four stars for flavor, six stars for not judging us when we left looking like we lost a fight with a ketchup bottle. We’ll be back… probably next week when we give up on cooking again.“
