great food, great people, great atmosphere! Also live music and art.
Always great food and awesome service.
A cool and unique cafe to stop by for a meal. The food and service is great. Would definitely recommend the Reuben! But what sets the place apart is the atmosphere because there's a legitimate waterwheel in operation within view of the seating area. The restaurant is linked to a free museum depicting how grain was processed over a hundred years ago. Pretty amazing to see the giant waterwheel at work as it powers all the belts and gears that used to operate the machinery.

The Waterwheel Café, Bakery & Bar offers a delightful mix of American and Vietnamese cuisine, with the sardine banh mi as a standout dish. The bakery also catches the eye with its delectable baked goods, including top-notch pastries like scones. Customers can enjoy a lovely atmosphere by a small river, which creates a cozy and welcoming setting. The café features a small museum with a functioning water wheel, providing a glimpse into the area's industrial history and adding to the overall charm. Recent reviews praise the great ambiance, friendly service, and fantastic food such as the steak sandwich, pasta salad, and pastries. While the food is consistently excellent and the baked goods are highly recommended, some customers noted that wait times can be very long, with one mention of a two-hour wait for a lunch order. The service is often described as excellent, and the Sunday Brunch remains a popular choice for great food at good prices. Customers also enjoy browsing a cute little shop upstairs while waiting for a table. Overall, the café is appreciated for its wonderful atmosphere, delicious dishes, and the opportunity to learn about the local industrial history.
