“My baby shower was held at The Steeping Leaf. We visited twice before: once for an afternoon tea and once for lunch. Both times beforehand we were met by the owner to discuss the shower. The tea menu is extensive and each time we had excellent tea. All of the food is delicious! For the shower, once we had discussed what we were looking for (Mad Hatter Tea Party), the owner took it from there. We arrived for the baby shower and everything was decorated and set up. It looked incredible! The space is so inviting, the decorations were amazing, food was delicious, and the tea was great as well. I would recommend the Steeping Leaf for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and special events. We will certainly be back!“

The place is bigger than it looks on the outside, is very clean and calm, the staff (and owner) were easy to work with and offered food samples and suggestions. “This is the real deal! A charming spot, offering an amazingly authentic food. I had the manduku soup which was clear, flavorful and full of huge mandu packed with and veggies. Also, the kimchi pancakes were delicious and plenty (two layers of pancakes!). Two small tables to sit and watch the nice owners making your fresh food and a few other tables outside. Parking is available, and prices are affordable.“

The elote was delicious and with the just the right amount of fixings. We stumbled across this place on the afternoon of the eclipse and the weather was nice enough to enjoy an outside table. The street was so quiet, with very little traffic except for the street cars that ventured by so we enjoyed the sunbathed table whilst we enjoyed lunch and watched the eclipse. The service was friendly and attentive. This place took us back to the great places we frequent when in Mexico. We're so lucky to have this authentic place here in Pittsburgh. “this place! Omg what an absolute hidden gem! This place is absolutely worth checking out, especially for a special occasion out. The atmosphere is cozy, and fancy without being overwhelming. I love that this is an old schoolhouse, you can really feel that old location feeling when you walk in. I will say we were slightly overwhelmed by the fancy menu, but our server Russell made it easy to understand, and gave his recommendations as well(Russell was an awesome server!). We ordered the giant meatball to start, this can easily be shared between 2-4 people. The meatball was so moist, the perfect amount of cheese, and that marinara sauce is so bright and wonderful! The rustic bread and holy oil are awesome, it definitely sets the mood for the meal. For our salads we ordered one of each, I personally had the Cesar salad because the other salad had ingredients I can't have, so I skipped it. The Cesar salad is that light yet flavorful dressing that I crave, it's simple in presentation, but it's just a solid choice if you're someone who doesn't like a lot going on in your salad. The casa salad is perfect for those that love a mix of flavors and textures, definitely a hearty mixture. For our pasta choice we hands down had to have the highly recommended CACIO E PEPE , not only is it fun to watch them prepare it table side, it's so delicious! It gives you that Alfredo taste without the heaviness, they will also bring out a house made chilli oil to compliment the pasta (start slow with it) For our main dishes we both went with chicken. Neither of us could decide on just one, so we picked two and decided to share lol. We chose marsala, and parmigiana. The marsala is just beautiful, it's hearty with the perfectly cooked mix of mushrooms that offer different textures, the chicken was generous, juicy and cooked to perfection. The sauce, omg the sauce! Sweet, earthy and followed by the wine flavor, it's the best I've ever had. Other places taste like a mushroom gravy in comparison lol. The parmigiana was just everything it should be, the lightly breaded chicken, juicy, and covered in that bright marinara sauce that I am still thinking about two days later lol. It was perfection even the next day! Even though both of us were absolutely bursting at this point and had plenty of leftovers, we couldn't pass up sharing a dessert. The raspberry tiramisu is an absolute must try! It's not traditional (no espresso) but they use vodka, candied almond slices , and it's just amazing. I would recommend asking for a bit more raspberry sauce because it's just that good! *Notes* get there early, definitely make reservations, and don't be afraid to ask questions. They do offer free vallet parking (the lot fills FAST) but we got there right when they opened at 4 so we didn't use them. This isn't a place for young children, I'd say teenager+ would be best for this establishment. This is a business casual place, but they're not strict with the requirements just use your best judgement when picking out an outfit. Enjoy the experience, and expect to be there about 1.5 hours or so.“

“When I first started coming here many years ago, even before I actually lived in Pittsburgh, it was my go to coffee shop. The owners really took pride in the shop, it was always clean and the owner and employees were always smiling and knowledgeable about the coffee - not your typical "I'm a barista, so I know better than you" that one experiences in many coffee houses these days. And the coffee was always top notch, obviously the most important point. Fast forward a few years later and it's become a true cafe. A very good menu that changes depending on the season and even day to day. Decided to stop by for brunch because Croque Madame was on the menu. There aren't a lot of tables so it can go fast, but luckily we found a spot at the bar. Even though the cafe was at capacity, it wasn't noisy, and it felt comfortable. I'd usually a great image to come and chill with e coffee. Yes, one can chill with a hot coffee! The main attraction - the Croque Madame - really was amazing. The quality of the cheese and the preparation/cooking were just right. Very much like the time we ate it in Paris many years ago. Full disclosure - I am biased as I've come here for years, except not as much recently, and this is the first time I've actually dined here - always just a latte either to go or sit and read. Been making too since they added a cafe menu, but better late than never! If you come to this cafe you won't be disappointed. I recommend checking the menu first as it does change. But if you see something you typically like, I feel confident you won't be disappointed.“

“We hired Noel at Mami’s Bakes to do cookies for our wedding rehearsal dinner and they were amazing! Everyone thought they were so delicious and had no idea they were vegan and gluten free. The red velvet cookie was totally amazing. We also ordered mini banana bread loaves for our wedding welcome bags and got so many compliments from guests! Noel was so nice to work with and took time for phone calls to make sure everything was perfect. We’ve also done orders just for fun or for holidays which have also all been delicious. Some of us in my family are vegan, some gluten free, and it’s so nice around the holidays to be able to pick up something delicious that everyone can eat. This year we ordered the coffee cake for Christmas morning and it was a huge hit, soo delicious! The cuban coffee cake is also insanely good!“

“A trip to Bistro 19 is always special. The ambiance is quiet but not restrictive, lovely decor. I ordered a Negroni which was perfect, followed by the vegetable stack appetizer instead of a salad. It was a big portion but so light and tasty with grilled vegetables. I had the sausage and greens tagliatelle. The portion was perfect, not oversized like most places, and was delicious. The brown rice and veggies were perfect. It comes with one sauce, but I got 3 additional as they're only $.35 each. I'd do it again. It came out with no mint in it and no minty flavor, and when I asked for some extra mint the waitress (who was excellent) let me know that they used a mojito mix. She did offer to bring me out some extra mix which was kind of her. The drink itself was fairly weak too, and it was served in a pretty skinny highball packed with ice so the drink was gone in 4-5 sips. They really only need fresh mint to make their own mojitos considering they should have rum, simple syrup, and club soda stocked already so it did feel like a cop-out for a $7 cocktail at a Mexican restaurant. At least they have the margaritas down! Just steer clear of the mojito“

“I was in need of gluten free birthday cake for my very best friend a surprise as her birthday is Christmas Eve I goggled gluten-free bakeries and the cafe came up and just 2 miles from my home I decide to try a custom order Well Thank You !! Not only was it beautiful but according to my friend best gluten free ever I had never had gluten free to me it was like a buttery pound cake perfection with fruit and chocolate buttercream decorated beautifully with every Penney and when she comes to visit next month we are having lunch there Amazing Thank you for making it special“
