“We were passing through town. Employee from the Farm Market down the road highly recommended Mamma Mia’s. It is very non assuming from the outside, but we enjoyed our lunch very much! Food was delicious! Good, friendly service too!Vegetarian options: Eggplant sub without cheese. LTO.“

“We decided to celebrate a special anniversary at Finellis and couldn't have been happier with our evening! We made a reservation and had a cozy table on this cold January evening. We were greeted promptly and while we were looking over the menu, we were given a pre-appetizer of a pasta & sausage salad in a delicious dressing. We did order an appetizer of "Drunken Mushrooms" to start and could believe how good they were and a very large portion too. We weren't rushed to order and when ready, gave our server, Christi, our order. The salads were very generous and fresh and we enjoyed two of the house-made dressings. I had an Italian vinaigrette which we loved so much, we purchased some to take home. We did ask for some bread or rolls and a basket was brought out. Out of the two, the bread was the best! Then came the meals. . .my wife had Eggplant Parmisan over angel hair pasta which she loved! I had a huge grilled pork porterhouse steak, cooked to perfection and accompanied by red roasted parsley potatoes and green beans in Jack Daniels sauce. The only thing we really didn't like was the green beans. . .was hoping for fresh cut ones and we couldn't taste the Jack Daniels sauce. That was so minor and we had so much food by then, it really didn't matter in the context of writing this review. The entree portions were large but yet totally scrumptious and seasoned / cooked to perfection. For dessert, they brought over a tray of about 8 or so desserts to pick from. . .all homemade by Mrs. Finelli herself! Oh my. . . who could resist? We decided to take a piece of Italian Almond Cake with butter cream icing. . .it was more than enough for us to share and especially after a big meal. The dessert was heavenly to say the least and we ate every bite! Last but not least, a big shout out to our server, Christi. . . .she made our dinner so enjoyable. . .friendly and checking in on us to see if we needed anything, refilling drinks and helping us order the perfect meal selections for us! A big thanks to her and Finellis. . .we will definitely be back soon!“

“Anthony has been perfecting the BEST Italian specialties for years now. I have done the Steak Sandwich, Pizza, Alfredo, Garlic Knots etc. ALL are TOP NOTCH Delish! Tonight we did the Meatball Sub with Cheese on the TO DIE FOR ROLL. AMAZING is all i can say. “My son and I visited the Hollidaysburg/Altoona area after placing the winning bid on an auction package benefitting a non-profit organization. Included in this “Altoona Adventure” package was a 2 night stay at Allegheny Street Bed & Breakfast. This non-profit is near and dear to our hearts, so kudos were already in order for the generous donation. I’d hate to sound like a broken record, so I will keep it brief and say that the numerous reviews describing warm and accommodating hosts, delicious breakfasts and immaculate rooms, are spot on. I spent most of my time at breakfast trying to take in every detail of the beautiful space, filled with instruments and antiques. We stayed in the Megan Rice room, which was cozy, quiet and utterly lovely. We enjoyed the stroll along Allegheny Street to check out the charming shops, cafes and restaurants. The location was convenient to many attractions (Everett Railroad, Chimney Rock Park, Horseshoe Curve, Railroaders Memorial Museum, DelGrosso’s Amusement Park, Boyer Candy Factory). Honestly, we just left, and I am already looking for reasons to go back. Jyoti is a gem of a host. Highly recommend.“

“I saw the reviews for Claysburg Pizza were good and they were right. It's really good pizza dough. We got 2 strombolis and I was highly impressed, that dough is special. The article on the wall says they sold 200,000 strombolis in a year, which is remarkable for a town this size. I can see why, I had the buffalo chicken boli and my kids had the taco boli. It's probably the best I've ever had. If I ever return to Claysburg, I'm definitely returning to this pizza joint as well.“

“Monthly lunch with my sisters and it was good but the portion amounts of soup are getting smaller. 2 of us had chicken gnocchi and it was more broth than substance. And someone really needs to dust! From the light above our booth to the shelf that separates them from other diners was coated in dust.Parking: They have more spaces reserved for curbside pick up than they do for handicap. I have trouble walking far. So it is a big challenge for me and my one sister. I drop her off and then try to find the closest spot for me.“

“The food here is amazing. I ordered a large cheese and decided to be adventurous and got a small pickle pizza. The cheese is good, not too greasy and a nice and crisp crust. The pickle was very dilly and cheesy, a little messy, but I was pleasantly surprised with it. I feel like it could have had a few more pickle slices, and I bet it would be good to add ham to as well. Delivery was fast and friendly. Next time I've definitely got to try the wings, the toxic waste flavor intrigues me.“
