This was our first time having Indian cuisine. We were delightfully impressed. The dishes were full of good flavors and enough for two to share. Food was fresh. I recommend trying the Masala buttermilk! Service was excellent!

The service was terrible, and everything was incredibly spicy. I ordered chicken korma, but it lacked the creamy texture and nuts I expected. When I informed the server that the dish didn’t look right, he simply said, “The chefs changed and the recipe changed.” The server also did not print my receipts. I won’t be returning.

Absolutely disappointing experience.
Yesterday - 6/28/25, We ordered Paneer Butter Masala and Garlic/Butter Naan to introduce Indian food to our American friends for the First time—and it was a disaster.

The paneer gravy was bland and overly creamy with zero flavor. The paneer itself was so much rubbery that it was tough to chew. The Naans was half-cooked, uneven thick, partially burnt, and tasted completely off. Attached is the images.

Hard to believe an Indian restaurant can mess up basic Indian dishes this badly.
First class money for Extremely poor quality food.
Would not advice this place, especially for any special occasions Very likely you’ll regret it.

I don’t usually write reviews, but today we were extremely disappointed with the service. We went for the lunch buffet at 2pm and the food was okay, but most of the items weren’t hot. We mentioned that the naans were not hot enough. They took them into the kitchen and came back with burnt naans, as shown in the picture. After seeing that, I ended up eating other items instead of the naan.

Around 2:45 pm, a new group of people came in for lunch and sat down. They were served freshly cooked naan. When we asked the staff member about this, he simply replied, “They are the owners.” I was astonished by the response. There was clearly no equality in how customers were treated. It seems like you only get good food if you own the place or if you are friends with someone who owns it.

This used to be a good spot for biryani, but with service like this, they are definitely going to lose customers.

Ordered veg manchurian, it was hard and not at all good. Complained and they offered replacement and we asked for veg fried rice, not sure wantedly or it was that way but fried rice is full of oil. Even if you touch single grain you will get oil to your fingers.
I felt bad and also didn’t complained second time.
But chicken dumplings biryani is my fav here

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant! I ordered the Paneer Butter Masala and Biryani, and both dishes were absolutely delicious—full of flavor and perfectly cooked. The service was excellent as well.

I recently dined at hbk Norristown and it was an exceptional experience. The Indian cuisine was truly outstanding—each dish was a delightful explosion of authentic flavors and spices. The paneer tikka was perfectly grilled, and the biryani was rich and aromatic

I recently hosted my son’s 2nd birthday party at the HBK Banquet Hall. While the size of the hall was perfect for our 115 guests, and the fully vegetarian menu was excellent in taste, the service was a significant letdown.

Before the party started, I specifically requested that the mirrors be cleaned, but this was completely overlooked. Even during the party, I had to remind the staff to clean the mirrors, which was frustrating and disrupted the flow of the event.

Throughout the event, I also had to repeatedly ask the staff to refill the food, which led to long buffet lines. I was embarrassed when I found out my guests had to keep asking for refills. It was frustrating that the staff seemed reluctant to help, often making faces when we requested assistance.

There was only one small black basket provided for used plates, and no one was assigned to clear the tables. I certainly couldn’t ask my guests to dispose of their plates after eating. This lack of attention to basic service was never communicated to us beforehand. Had I known about these shortcomings, I would have reconsidered booking the banquet hall. At one point during the party, I even called the owner of the restaurant to discuss these issues, and only then did someone come to clear the plates from the tables. Unfortunately, during this call, I missed the cake cutting of my nephew, who shares the same birthday as my son.

One of the most disappointing aspects was the lack of dedicated waitstaff for our party. In my experience, most venues provide at least 1-2 waiters specifically for private events to ensure everything runs smoothly. Unfortunately, here, the same staff who were managing the restaurant orders were also responsible for our party, which clearly impacted the quality of service.

Additionally, the placement of the soup was so obscure that many of our guests didn’t even realize it was part of the menu. It was a missed opportunity for what could have been a more enjoyable experience for everyone.

While the food was excellent, the poor service left me deeply disappointed, and I would have to think twice before recommending this place for a party event. I’m giving 2 stars purely for the quality of the food, but if I could, I would rate the service even lower. The poor service overshadowed what should have been a special celebration.
