He was the first one to order and even pointed it out on the menu.The waitress passed a cheeseburger order around to a couple on our table. We finally got it to the correct person who was skeptical about the order and kept looking at the burger for a while to see if anyone fingered his food.“

It was ok, not loaded with crab like the waiter said. My friend had a salad, no complaints, but the waiter had to be asked to refill our water and tea, and we had to wait to get his attention. We were greeted at the table by our server with bread and butter and asking if we wanted more than water to drink. In general the drinks took a while and so did the soup. We waited quite a while for someone to take the empty soup bowls and ask if we wanted a water refill or another drink. The soup bowls were taken when the entrees were served. There was someone nearby who was setting the table next to us but she was only interested a table that was still empty when we left. We remain fans of the restaurant and will be back but clearly not a good moment.“

“What a phenomenal find! The bar (craft cocktails), building, restaurant is gorgeous. Old stone mixed with modern posh amenities. The food is TRUE & authentic Italian- my son closed his eyes at bread course (grilled Roman bread with ricotta & honey for A Scarpetta) and said, “mom this tastes like Italy!” We shared and tasted so many things, antipasto, starters, the salads were fresh, perfect vinaigrettes, the pastas & sauces all legit, homemade from scratch and perfectly Al dente. They dry-age their beef too which is exceptional. For dessert we had tiramisu budino & affogato- a perfect ending. We will be back and would recommend to friends. The staff was great too, just the right amount of attentiveness. It was a joyful & delicious experience at Tresini.“

“We had a group 7 adults and an infant. The seating was in a side section that easily accommodated us. I didn’t get the host’s name who greeted us at the entrance, but he was very friendly. Cat was our waitress. She was very friendly and always smiled. She made sure we received our drinks and food in a very timely manner. The food was delicious and very well prepared. As we dined, Cat would check on us often to make sure we didn’t need anything. Prior to leaving, she asked if we needed anything else and then thanked us for coming. “Who's a lucky dog? You are if you find yourself sitting at the bar of this neighborhood treasure. Friendly staff, friendly strangers, unexpectedly great food. This all at a reasonable price, and served up quickly. It's not a super nice place, a neighborhood bar. But the restrooms are clean, the atmosphere casual. So much so that the food quality comes as a surprise. Obviously, they care, and they are skilled. And the customers care. We just showed up on a lark, we were the lucky ones.“

I ordered the Pollo Mignon on the recommendation of our waiter (who was awesome and said it was his favorite dish) and I was blown away with the flavors. It is a Boneless chicken breast, bacon wrapped, melted chihuahua, Served atop a smoky chorizo-chipotle sauce. Served with rice and refried black beans. My date and I each ordered margaritas and they were not only delicious but the presentation was very nice when the drinks arrived. If you like authentic Mexican food, go here. I bet you go back! I ordered a double shot of Jack and a pint of coke and I got a double shot glass with ice and not even filled to the top and my soda had NO ice and it was half the size of a pint. “It took far too long to get here, but I was finally able to hit McNally’s Tavern in Chestnut Hill for “The Schmitter”. There were quite a few things on this menu that looked good so don’t be surprised to see a follow up on this at some point, but had to talk about this sandwich and experience specifically.So we went on a Friday night around 7pm (had just landed in Philly at the airport) and the place was packed! We were lucky and a couple was leaving shortly after we told the hostess about our party so we sat fairly quickly. Cool vibe in the place, tin mugs hanging from the ceiling and sports on all the tv’s. Like I said though, crazy packed so it was loud and a bit chaotic.The Schmitter is a pretty odd sandwich honestly given what’s on it. Basically a cheesesteak with onions, tomato’s, salami, and their sauce that is similar to a Big Mac sauce. I’d never have thought to add salami to a cheesesteak, but here we are. The flavor was quite good, it was on a round Kaiser (you can order long roll if you want) which reminded me of donkeys place a bit, and the tomato added a nice freshness as well. The price is what you’d expect, maybe a tad bit more, for the sandwich and it comes with basic ridged chips.My girlfriend also got a chicken cheesesteak that was good but looked awful. They use a broiler/salamander to melt the cheese and it came out looking burnt, but it tasted fine.All in all I enjoyed it and will come back again and get another or sample other items. The Schmitter at McNally’s Tavern - Didn’t Suck!“

“Being frequent customers at the East End Tavern and always enjoying their food, we inquired if they would be available to cater a 50 guest family celebration at our home. I met with their manager Sam one morning and she very kindly and efficiently assisted me in choosing all our food selections, giving suggestions and portion sizes that would help us have a successful event. An hour before the party, Sam and Scott arrived at our home and showing great teamwork, they both proceeded to take care of every detail of the setup. The layout was perfect for an efficient kitchen flow. Everyone kept commenting how delicious everything was and all wanted to know who catered the food. There is no doubt that the East End Tavern definitely contributed to the amazing time that was had by all. Nothing less than a five star service.“

“I came in on Saint Patrick’s day with my family. We had an extraordinary time there. The portions were very large which is great for hefty eaters or people who simply want to save their food. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the kids Mac and cheese with applesauce (don’t judge) and it was delightful. The applesauce was slightly crunchy, and had cinnamon sprinkled overtop. The Mac and cheese was delicious and cheesy, I could hardly finish it all. I also had a Shirley temple with it, which tasted amazing. It tasted a bit like strawberry syrup mixed with lemonade and sprite. The service was excellent. The waiters and waitresses were so polite, and since I went there on Saint Patrick’s day, the entire staff was dressed in leprechaun outfits. They were very friendly. The atmosphere was very light and positive, with an older style feel. I 100% recommend going here.Vegetarian options: I personally don’t recommend for vegetarians to go here, as most of Phil’s is centered off of meat, but they do have plenty of other options that don’t involve meat.Dietary restrictions: The staff was very accommodating and would definitely be willing to accommodate to dietary restrictions.Parking: The amount of parking space was surprising, since we went in on a crowded day. Yet we were able to park our car comfortably outside with not too much of a walking distance.Kid-friendliness: They were so polite to us kids, we got crayons and they did not judge the awful drawings we made.Wheelchair accessibility: They had no steps there, and the distance between the parking and the building is a very small and flat area of land.“

Panicos is the closest I've found for that.Panicos isn't the highest quality you can buy up here (that'd be wagyu cheesesteak from Capriottis). And they're not even the best at making a traditional one (Italian Delight). That being said, Panicos makes a serviceable cheesesteak for a good price. $11 and it's decent. Do they mix the cheese in with the meat? Nope...they do cheese blankets. Do they toast the roll? Nope, and the sandwich will probably fall apart halfway through eating it. But the steak they use is decent, and the price they charge is perfect.Those other places I mentioned are $15-20 for similar. Panicos is a great go-to steak place and I'mma keep going there. If they started charging $15 though...I'd switch to Italian Delight.“

“We decided to try the Copper Crow for brunch on Sunday morning. The food was really tasty I had the hashbrown skillet with sausage gravy the wife had the rancheros skillet. We all so tried the egg bites which were excellent. The drinks where good The morning refresher was very well balanced. We were not sure how to dress for brunch considering it is a business casual restaurant. Upon arrival we were greeted by a hostess wearing what can only be described as a giant onesie. We were seated in the back near the kitchen where we had the pleasure of overhearing the young kid working complain how he doesn't like to work mornings. Our server was great very attentive but we did seem a little rushed with our check while my wife was still eating despite only having 4 tables filled at 10:30 am. I'd be willing to try it again for an evening dinner.“
