“Stopped for a quick bite after being on the road for hours. What a great break! We had a Steak and Baked Potatoe dinner...A Fish Fry with a very large portion of fresh cut fry's....and a toasted Italian Sub....Servers were personable...service was quick...and Everything was amazing. Portions were so large, and the homemade dinner loaves were the best...AND that is what your sub is made from! Best I have had. Definatly recommend ?”

“It's little places like this with a huge heart and more soul than gospel choir that make America great. Visited this historic bar by pure chance while traveling from Maryland to Iowa. It's not every day you get to belly up to a bar that's the oldest in a entire state to have been ran by the same family since prohibition ended. That's 1933 & 12 yrs short of a hundred for all those who don't know. Very nice lady bartender greeted us with a smile & made us out of towners feel right @ home. Beer was ice cold, environment was clean & comfortable. Sure wish I had a place like this back home in Iowa. “My boyfriend and I had a little time on our hands between doctor appointments so we decided to have lunch here. We got there a little before noon and there were a few tables of customers but it wasn't crowded. As we ate, the lunch rush started and the workers were very good about keeping everything stocked, hot, and fresh. This is a buffet type place but they do have carryout options as well. The buffet itself is not very large but there is enough variety to keep your tastebuds happy.. Everything was the perfect temperature and was very flavorful, especially their General Tso and the Peanut Butter Chicken. The servers promptly removed used plates to keep your table clean and inviting you to maybe have seconds or a dessert. I wish there were more fresh fruit options, but the basics for this type of buffet were there. Our meal, including drinks and a tip was less than $30. This is a great option for a quick but filling lunch. I will update this info if/when we experience the dinner selections.Parking: Parking seemed adequate for the size of the restaurant.Kid-friendliness: High chairs and booster seats available”
