“If you want the small, busy Diner feeling, Tom & Joe's is for you. The place is always hopping. There is a good variety of food. The staff is friendly.Parking: Parking lot is small and shared with another business. Street parking is available, but not free.Kid-friendliness: Lots of kid friendly options.Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is small and tight. A wheelchair could get in, but it would be difficult.”
“Wonderful Thai gem in Altoona. Very flavourful Massaman Curry and enough to provide dinner and lunch the next day with the rice! We ordered take out and the food was ready when promised. My wife has Gluten, Dairy and Sesame allergies and normally cannot eat from restaurants in Altoona. She enjoyed her Pad Thai very much and had no reactions. Authentic non-alcoholic drinks from Thailand were enjoyed as well.”
“I stopped by this bakery shortly after the winter holidays, and they had an incredible selection of sale items, so if you ate through your stash already, they’ll have plenty to stock you up! I grabbed an apple dumpling and chocolate milk, both of which were delicious. I’ll gladly return to try some of their savory offerings next.”
“The owners are so sweet! Went in for coffee grounds for my husband's garden an they were more then happy to give them to us! Owner even helped me carry them to my car! Hands down BEST service at a coffee shop in Altoona!! Thanks for all yall do!”
“We decided to celebrate a special anniversary at Finellis and couldn't have been happier with our evening! We made a reservation and had a cozy table on this cold January evening. We were greeted promptly and while we were looking over the menu, we were given a pre-appetizer of a pasta & sausage salad in a delicious dressing. We did order an appetizer of "Drunken Mushrooms" to start and could believe how good they were and a very large portion too. We weren't rushed to order and when ready, gave our server, Christi, our order. The salads were very generous and fresh and we enjoyed two of the house-made dressings. I had an Italian vinaigrette which we loved so much, we purchased some to take home. We did ask for some bread or rolls and a basket was brought out. Out of the two, the bread was the best! Then came the meals. . .my wife had Eggplant Parmisan over angel hair pasta which she loved! I had a huge grilled pork porterhouse steak, cooked to perfection and accompanied by red roasted parsley potatoes and green beans in Jack Daniels sauce. The only thing we really didn't like was the green beans. . .was hoping for fresh cut ones and we couldn't taste the Jack Daniels sauce. That was so minor and we had so much food by then, it really didn't matter in the context of writing this review. The entree portions were large but yet totally scrumptious and seasoned / cooked to perfection. For dessert, they brought over a tray of about 8 or so desserts to pick from. . .all homemade by Mrs. Finelli herself! Oh my. . . who could resist? We decided to take a piece of Italian Almond Cake with butter cream icing. . .it was more than enough for us to share and especially after a big meal. The dessert was heavenly to say the least and we ate every bite! Last but not least, a big shout out to our server, Christi. . . .she made our dinner so enjoyable. . .friendly and checking in on us to see if we needed anything, refilling drinks and helping us order the perfect meal selections for us! A big thanks to her and Finellis. . .we will definitely be back soon!”
“Definitely a boba place to go to. Clean, great service and amazing tea. Highly recommend taro milk tea and coconut coffee dirty, sooooo good. Almond milk is also available. The fruit tea is amazing, so refreshing. The owner is so sweet. Best boba place in the area ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Vegetarian options: Almond milk availableKid-friendliness: All kids love boba”
“The best funnel cakes and tea and lemonade with strawberry bubbles ever ever day at the fair I go here and sometimes twice a day. I can't get enough. They are so fresh and all the stuff is home made.”
“I’ve been here so many times and I’ve never had a bad experience or bad food. The servers are always attentive even when it’s busy. Food is absolutely amazing!”
“This place is s local hometown favorite for a reason! The food is incredible, cooked to perfection, and still affordable. Dishes come out quicker than expected. Drinks are probably some of the lowest priced in the area! I personall6 recommend the roast beef sandwich, it is the best in the area and I am a roast beef snob. ?The owner makes you feel welcome and remembers you when you return! A genuinely friendly guy and well loved in the community. The atmosphere is cozy and dim , multiple tvs playing sports programming for those who are there for the sports bar appeal, trivial pursuit decks on the table for those who prefer mental athletics. ?Only down side is it is cash payment only, there is an atm near the bathrooms however. I'd recommend stopping by a free sheetz atm prior to your visit. If it's your first visit, you're in for a treat!Parking: Surprisingly plenty of parking for being residential street parking. Even at the busiest times, it seems the farthest you would have to walk is a block.”
“The crew at the shop were very nice to my wife and I and made us feel accommodated and appreciated for our travel to their restaurant. It feels like a hidden gem in the heart of Altoona and I liked the Altoona style Sicilian. It is not the greatest pizza but it is very good and different. A pizza critic needs to come check it and have a good time with the local flavor slice. My only regret is not trying one of the hoagies there. Good job guys at 29th St!”
“Simply amazing! We are visiting from St Louis and we are so grateful we happened upon this local brewery! Super friendly service!!! The pulled pork nachos were UH-mazing!!!! Loved listening to open mic night as well! I could go on and on….!! ♥️♥️”
“The food and drinks here are consistently delicious, and the vibe is the perfect mix of cool yet welcoming. We especially love the seasonal drinks and the SOTW, always keeping it fresh!”
“Me and my family got his flatbreads and pizza. As soon as we took a bite we fell in love with his pizza. We also tried other items and they were amazing. Good service and very nice staff. Nice seating in the inside I dined in a few times.”
“I love this place! The people are always super nice and willing to help if you need anything. They have a very wide variety of candy and chocolate to choose from. I love how they decorated the place, it feels very cosy and fun at the same time.Kid-friendliness: A bunch of fun colors and tons of candy and sweets. Nothing scary or vulgar. All super sweet!”
“The Clay Cup offers a calm & soothing atmosphere, with some of the coolest knowledgeable baristas/staff I have come to interact with! Which, in my opinion, makes The Clay Cup a MUST when visiting Altoona!Whether you are looking for a quick stop for their gourmet coffees & breakfast sandwiches; or showing up for a painting party in their ceramics art room in the back- The Clay Cup stands out by offering one of the most unique & worthwhile experiences the entire city of Altoona has to offer!”
“Stopped in here to buy a case last weekend. Was greeted by a fine fella at the door and he asked me what I was looking for. Of course I responded that I wanted a case of cool, crisp, refreshing Busch Light. He immediately went and got a cold case for me and rung me up in a matter of seconds. A+++ for service.”
“Lisa made the most amazing cake for my daughter's sweet 16 birthday ? I'm so grateful for her taking on the job and theme I called her panicked because another baker couldn't do what I was asking and she made it happen over night it was beautiful ❤️ I highly recommend her and her team thanks Lisa ❤️”
“Came on a friday where they had live music. It was fantastic!Got a latte and a yogurt parfait, both were very delicious. It was a little complicated to park, but once you get inside it is very spacious with lots of different seating options.Definitely recommend! I hope they do more live-music soon!”
“Me and my sons love Sal’s! The white pizza and the Sicilian are our go to pretty often. Some of the best pizza around here if you ask me. Dining room is always nice to when we don’t carry out. ?????????”
“Absolutely beautiful setting, delicious food and loved the Belgium beer. Todd is a gracious host and was kind enough to give us the Altus story. Very interesting. I will be back with many more friends.”
“It looks like a run-down factory but actually a bakery! WOW! Too bad we only got what was left from yesterday since Friday is the last day to back for the week and they don't bake during the weekend. Good news was that everything was 1/2 off since they were a day old bread. So, excided to have some later once I get home!Vegetarian options: Variety of selections to choose from.”
“Love this place great food friendly people good priced drinks and now no smoking inside which is another plus. I DONT HOLD BACK ON FEEDBACK the corn fritters and saloon burger was the perfect dinner filled me up and my kids got the chicken fritters and ”

“Great place e to eat. Everybody is friendly and speak to you whether they know you or not.2/2/2024...had delicious dinner celebrating my best friend's 70th birthday. Our waitress was fantastic and was so nice when serving dessert to the birthday girl.”
“If you know anything about NY style pizza, then you know it's hard to find a good slice around this area. Five stars to this place! Best NY style pizza since being in New York and New Jersey. Finally!”
“We were on vacation near Tyrone and stopped in for a quick bite. I really wish we had this spot on Long Island. Their chili dog did not disappoint. The mac and cheese with "sauce" omg! We not only ate an order but took two more home. Everyone was very pleasant.”
“We drove 45 minutes just to have this for dinner, and we were not disappointed! Great service. Amazing food! The staff recommended the chili chicken appetizer, and it was so good! The mango lasse is the best I've had!”
“My first experience with Front Street Deli on 8th Street in Altoona was the most unforgettable dinner. Unfortunately, because I'm not from the area and I wasn't sure the name of the restaurant or my exact location, I wasn't able to revisit the restaurant again for more than 9 years. But, my experience today was just as amazing as it was 9+ years ago. The inside is always spotless clean. I was greeted as soon as I entered. The helpful, warm, and welcoming young man at the register took our order, 1 slice of the Buffalo Chicken pizza, our payment, and advised 10-15 minutes. While we waited, my husband used the restroom, which is said was clean, and I waited in the lobby and eyeballed the claw game. I'm actually not sure what I'm most excited about right now, the fact that I finally found the restaurant or the fact that I spent $4, $1 each turn, and won a rubber duck each turn and a bag of dip and dots. The young man behind the counter brought out my slice of pizza just as I spent my last $1 bill. Pizza was perfect when we sat down to eat it. Not too much sauce, not too many heavy toppings, just perfect!I will recommend Front Street Deli to ALL my friends and family.Thank you for the excellent customer service and delicious pizza.Kid-friendliness: Claw machine that isn't set up to fail you.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair ramp out front and ramp to get to dining room.”
“I walked into Starbucks being confused at where everything was located and then stumbled across this great manager named Marc Cruz. Taking one look at him, I knew this guy he gets it. He showed me all around the store and made sure I was well taken care of. He even managed to engage other customers and make them feel welcome. He did a great job and I was very fortunate to meet him. Definitely going back!!”
“The staff was super helpful. Ask for extra parmesan, it's so good. If you want to take some, make sure you order before 7pm. The water park closes and you will be without Alfredo. No Alfredo! That's the worst.”
