“Speed while traveling 4 lunch. Couple miles from highway but worth the detour! Small hometown store with few specialty items- local creamery ice cream & local raw milk cheeses in addition to subs, few appetizers & soup available.I had a half sub (about 6-7 inch sandwich) with cup of soup & drink for about $9&change! BARGAIN 4 what I was served. Sandwich made to order. It was super fresh ingredients & delicious. Homemade Italian wedding soup seasoned expertly; it was very tasty.Pleasant engaging service. Accommodated all requests (even made me a sampler of the different ice creams...Decor was that of an old time store. Kinda like Cracker Barrel Decor if your familiar with that.Parking: Parking out back in their lot. No problem with access. Few stairs to enter from back.Wheelchair accessibility: Not certain about front entrance but Few stairs to enter from back.”
“We get dinners almost weekly. We love their food. Hot and sour soup is a favorite. We like too many main dishes to narrow it down, but there are many to choose from!”
“Small dive bar. Each night, they have a different event, such as bingo or trivia. They do have Karaoke as well. Fpr the most past, it's laid back, but the weekends do get more busy. For being smaller, they typically only have one bartender working at a time, so service can be slow at times.”
“The home made ham pot pie can’t be beat! It’s the best!! Wonderful breakfast and wings special on Saturday night is outstanding! Very friendly staff and very accommodating!!”
“If you want the small, busy Diner feeling, Tom & Joe's is for you. The place is always hopping. There is a good variety of food. The staff is friendly.Parking: Parking lot is small and shared with another business. Street parking is available, but not free.Kid-friendliness: Lots of kid friendly options.Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is small and tight. A wheelchair could get in, but it would be difficult.”
“Wonderful Thai gem in Altoona. Very flavourful Massaman Curry and enough to provide dinner and lunch the next day with the rice! We ordered take out and the food was ready when promised. My wife has Gluten, Dairy and Sesame allergies and normally cannot eat from restaurants in Altoona. She enjoyed her Pad Thai very much and had no reactions. Authentic non-alcoholic drinks from Thailand were enjoyed as well.”
“We decided to celebrate a special anniversary at Finellis and couldn't have been happier with our evening! We made a reservation and had a cozy table on this cold January evening. We were greeted promptly and while we were looking over the menu, we were given a pre-appetizer of a pasta & sausage salad in a delicious dressing. We did order an appetizer of "Drunken Mushrooms" to start and could believe how good they were and a very large portion too. We weren't rushed to order and when ready, gave our server, Christi, our order. The salads were very generous and fresh and we enjoyed two of the house-made dressings. I had an Italian vinaigrette which we loved so much, we purchased some to take home. We did ask for some bread or rolls and a basket was brought out. Out of the two, the bread was the best! Then came the meals. . .my wife had Eggplant Parmisan over angel hair pasta which she loved! I had a huge grilled pork porterhouse steak, cooked to perfection and accompanied by red roasted parsley potatoes and green beans in Jack Daniels sauce. The only thing we really didn't like was the green beans. . .was hoping for fresh cut ones and we couldn't taste the Jack Daniels sauce. That was so minor and we had so much food by then, it really didn't matter in the context of writing this review. The entree portions were large but yet totally scrumptious and seasoned / cooked to perfection. For dessert, they brought over a tray of about 8 or so desserts to pick from. . .all homemade by Mrs. Finelli herself! Oh my. . . who could resist? We decided to take a piece of Italian Almond Cake with butter cream icing. . .it was more than enough for us to share and especially after a big meal. The dessert was heavenly to say the least and we ate every bite! Last but not least, a big shout out to our server, Christi. . . .she made our dinner so enjoyable. . .friendly and checking in on us to see if we needed anything, refilling drinks and helping us order the perfect meal selections for us! A big thanks to her and Finellis. . .we will definitely be back soon!”
“I stopped by this bakery shortly after the winter holidays, and they had an incredible selection of sale items, so if you ate through your stash already, they’ll have plenty to stock you up! I grabbed an apple dumpling and chocolate milk, both of which were delicious. I’ll gladly return to try some of their savory offerings next.”
“The owners are so sweet! Went in for coffee grounds for my husband's garden an they were more then happy to give them to us! Owner even helped me carry them to my car! Hands down BEST service at a coffee shop in Altoona!! Thanks for all yall do!”
“Definitely a boba place to go to. Clean, great service and amazing tea. Highly recommend taro milk tea and coconut coffee dirty, sooooo good. Almond milk is also available. The fruit tea is amazing, so refreshing. The owner is so sweet. Best boba place in the area ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Vegetarian options: Almond milk availableKid-friendliness: All kids love boba”
“I’ve been here so many times and I’ve never had a bad experience or bad food. The servers are always attentive even when it’s busy. Food is absolutely amazing!”
“After finishing the March Madness Coffee Crawl, I am happy to give Biddle’s Brewing a five star review! I am consistently impressed by their drinks, food and service. Additionally, the coffee aspect of their signature coffee drinks have never got drowned out by sugar and other flavors, but only elevated!”
“The best funnel cakes and tea and lemonade with strawberry bubbles ever ever day at the fair I go here and sometimes twice a day. I can't get enough. They are so fresh and all the stuff is home made.”
“This place is s local hometown favorite for a reason! The food is incredible, cooked to perfection, and still affordable. Dishes come out quicker than expected. Drinks are probably some of the lowest priced in the area! I personall6 recommend the roast beef sandwich, it is the best in the area and I am a roast beef snob. ?The owner makes you feel welcome and remembers you when you return! A genuinely friendly guy and well loved in the community. The atmosphere is cozy and dim , multiple tvs playing sports programming for those who are there for the sports bar appeal, trivial pursuit decks on the table for those who prefer mental athletics. ?Only down side is it is cash payment only, there is an atm near the bathrooms however. I'd recommend stopping by a free sheetz atm prior to your visit. If it's your first visit, you're in for a treat!Parking: Surprisingly plenty of parking for being residential street parking. Even at the busiest times, it seems the farthest you would have to walk is a block.”
“Simply amazing! We are visiting from St Louis and we are so grateful we happened upon this local brewery! Super friendly service!!! The pulled pork nachos were UH-mazing!!!! Loved listening to open mic night as well! I could go on and on….!! ♥️♥️”
“The crew at the shop were very nice to my wife and I and made us feel accommodated and appreciated for our travel to their restaurant. It feels like a hidden gem in the heart of Altoona and I liked the Altoona style Sicilian. It is not the greatest pizza but it is very good and different. A pizza critic needs to come check it and have a good time with the local flavor slice. My only regret is not trying one of the hoagies there. Good job guys at 29th St!”
“The food and drinks here are consistently delicious, and the vibe is the perfect mix of cool yet welcoming. We especially love the seasonal drinks and the SOTW, always keeping it fresh!”
“My wife and I took a car ride today. We found this Wonderful Restaurant. We had a delicious meal. Great service. It will become one of our go to places when in Altoona. If you're in Altoona stop by this place. You will not be disappointed.”
“The Clay Cup offers a calm & soothing atmosphere, with some of the coolest knowledgeable baristas/staff I have come to interact with! Which, in my opinion, makes The Clay Cup a MUST when visiting Altoona!Whether you are looking for a quick stop for their gourmet coffees & breakfast sandwiches; or showing up for a painting party in their ceramics art room in the back- The Clay Cup stands out by offering one of the most unique & worthwhile experiences the entire city of Altoona has to offer!”
“Me and my family got his flatbreads and pizza. As soon as we took a bite we fell in love with his pizza. We also tried other items and they were amazing. Good service and very nice staff. Nice seating in the inside I dined in a few times.”
“I love this place! The people are always super nice and willing to help if you need anything. They have a very wide variety of candy and chocolate to choose from. I love how they decorated the place, it feels very cosy and fun at the same time.Kid-friendliness: A bunch of fun colors and tons of candy and sweets. Nothing scary or vulgar. All super sweet!”
“Had an AWESOME dinner, service spot on with Kierra, the chef was attentive he kept looking out as food went out, which good chefs ALWAYS do that! Check it out folks!”
“Really nice place!!! Great service as well, super nice waitress, and overall good vibe. I’m not from this area and was recommended this place for a quick (and delicious) bite to eat. For sure give this place a try if you’re in the area!”
“This hidden gem has by far the best pizza in the Altoona area!I usually take pictures of the food I evaluate for this Google app users. But this time, the pizza was so good that I forgot all about taking pictures.Thank you, Jason!”
“Lisa made the most amazing cake for my daughter's sweet 16 birthday ? I'm so grateful for her taking on the job and theme I called her panicked because another baker couldn't do what I was asking and she made it happen over night it was beautiful ❤️ I highly recommend her and her team thanks Lisa ❤️”
“My family and I always love going to the daily grind either for take out or dinning in the food is always absolutely amazing the best breakfast food I ever have had and I don't even like breakfast food all like that I love it also the coffee drinks are ”
“Came on a friday where they had live music. It was fantastic!Got a latte and a yogurt parfait, both were very delicious. It was a little complicated to park, but once you get inside it is very spacious with lots of different seating options.Definitely recommend! I hope they do more live-music soon!”
“Stopped in here to buy a case last weekend. Was greeted by a fine fella at the door and he asked me what I was looking for. Of course I responded that I wanted a case of cool, crisp, refreshing Busch Light. He immediately went and got a cold case for me and rung me up in a matter of seconds. A+++ for service.”
“I have eaten here 2 times so far, and I enjoy the food thoroughly. The lady who runs the register has been very friendly to us when ordering, and she even remembered us today from the last time we were there! This is the best place to go for fast, real, fresh and healthy foods! I have eaten in both times, but they also offer meal plans.Vegetarian options: They have a decent amount of vegetarian options available”
“Worst waitress ever!!!! Had to go to bar to get drinks, food order was wrong. This has happened before......bartender is way more worried about friends sitting at the bar.”
