“We ended up here for the first time because we found no diners were open at 0630. They have an amazing array of specialty (Brazilian) bakery items some sweet and many savory. I'm no stranger to bakery cases and I didn't recognize the items. They appeared baked in site. The hostess even gave us some to try and it was delicious - sorry I can't remember but it was a round roll with savory cheese inside.Breakfast:We ordered eggs for breakfast but I don't think this is their focus. Eggs were cooked a little heavy / and there weren't any accompaniments customary with breakfast (potatoes or slices of bacon or meat). "American diner breakfast" is my personal preference I won't fault them for that.Beverages:I also didn't have anything to drink because I usually order unsweetened iced tea and they didnt have that. My husband said that the coffee was average.They have a lunch menu as well.Only a few small tables inside and a counter so probably best for takeout.They were packed at 0630 with contracters and landscapers picking up self serve pastries to go.The signage outside and premises inside (worn) do no justice to this gem which serves outstanding Brazilian bakery items. “This is one of two breakfast spots where I enjoy the shrimp and grits. It's very delicious and filling! I get bacon to add to the grits because everything is better with bacon. The latte was also hot for almost my whole meal; everywhere else it's cold after five minutes. I'm not sure how they're doing that, but I hope they keep doing it! All the employees are polite as well. I come from another state to eat here because I love the food and the service is great.“

“Love this place, freshest boba. If you have never tried boba go for Pearl Milk Tea if you like tea, or if not go for an apple pulp tea or a fruit smoothie. You can get boba added to most drinks. A fee snacks available, too. Best place we have tried in area, and we love boba, started drinking boba tea when we visited Taiwan, so we are a bit picky. Good drinks, has small tables or carryout.“

“We originally went for the Sushi to this kosher restaurant in Northeast Philadelphia on Castor Avenue -- but instead we enjoyed and could not have enough of: Halomi Salad and Mushroom Wheel. One was in a friendly, family environment that went over backwards to please you-- and it felt like you were being take care of by family -- in a small comfortable town in Israel. The Halomi salad's taste reminded one of someplace in the Galil that was so good and so impossible to find of any quality anywhere in the whole US; the mushroom wheel so unique and tasty that it could not be forgotten.“

“This is not a sit down/order restaurant. You go up to order and it is brought to your table. Staff is friendly and while we were there for breakfast, there was a constant line. Not unbearable but nonetheless, a line to order. Food quality was good. Two eggs, bacon & fruit cup with water was approx $16.00. Easily accessible and close to shops.“

“Big fan of the Borsch Belt because they have gluten friendly options! Actually, they’re the only place locally where I can get the most delicious gluten free everything bagel breakfast sandwich! They are soft with the most wonderful bread texture and delicious flavor. I usually order 2-3 extra bagels for my freezer at home. My only complaint is on there special menu of hot food choices they (don't give any prices) and when I questioned ,the young girl in the front she really couldn't give me an any explanation !!!! This, is not by any means an 'upscale restaurant' where, I would expect to see this type of thing.....Just Saying“

“I ordered 2 bagels with cream cheese. There was a fishy taste to both of them. I threw them both out as I have fish allergies. It must have happened from the knifes they used to spread or cut the bagels. This was not the first time this happened. My wife ordered a tuna melt that wasn't melted and the bagel wasn't toasted. These were take out orders so we weren't aware of the issues until later.

The staff, however, is the one saving grace. They always are pleasant and courteous. The place itself is always clean.

Note: The owner stopped me outside of the store as he recognized me from this review. After our conversation, I felt that this review needed an edit. He was very courteous and caring. He told me that he reads and responds to every review. He did point out that our order was not a menu item and they made the sandwich as a courtesy. Therefore, I feel that they do not deserve the rating I gave them.“

Bernie's baking is excellent too. My only 4 in Atmosphere is because of a moderate noise level when busy. Veterans get free coffee- much appreciated!“
