“A nice spot, rather informal but still fun. We split the lamb glaba, which was fairly good, and the fahsah, which came with large flatbread and was really good. You do have to pay for water. Our server was helpful and easy to talk to. Overall I'd say its a fun ethnic spot to visit. They did some weird stuff with the bill- I think they charged the credit card tax ahead of time on everything regardless of payment method, so be aware of that.“

“@halal_mexican is a hidden gem in Philadelphia that has some of the best HALAL Mexican cuisine that I’ve ever tasted. I love that I was able to find a Mexican halal spot. Pictured: -Flautas -Shrimp Chimichanga -Mini Corn on the Cob -Chicken Tacos -Steak Burrito Bowl My favorite item from there has to be the flautas. It’s a deep fried rolled chicken tacos served with pico de gallo and sour cream. Highly recommend this restaurant to all those seeking a tasty mexican restaurant with good service and halal food! “They had a special deal going on all day today, and I Got a free chicken gyro. I live close by and i had been thinking of trying it out ever since it opened up and finally went today since it was free, and have to say I was impressed. It was delicious and well prepared. “The smoothies here are so good! Fresh, flavorful, and not overly sweet like some places. They were super refreshing, perfect texture, and didn’t taste artificial at all. You can tell they use quality ingredients.

“I visited the truck during my lunch break to pick up lunch for me and my mother. We both got the chicken over rice with the salad. The man in the truck was very nice and personable. The person in front of me ordered six plates, and he served them promptly. When it was my turn order, he greeted me warmly and served the food fairly quickly. The food is delicious and the portions are great, the meal comes with a drink as well. it's a plentiful serving because I only ate half for dinner and had the other half the next day for lunch and it was just as delicious. I think overall, you can't beat the delectable taste with the price. 10/10“

“This is fresh and hot , great chicken and rice with 2 kinds of rice , I eat this every day, all food is cooked and sourced by the owner and his brother chicken is fresh and not little red squares like premade stuff , he cooks and cuts chicken right in front of you , there’s a big lineup every day so it’s best to call in your order for quick in and out , if you like fish , his is out of this world good , can’t wait for deliver so just call and go get it , tell him (Kahn) that mike sent you for extras on your order , try this if you like spicy food or just good food quickly“

“I always like the option of a “24 hour” restaurant even though I went during the early evening/dinnertime. They have a traditional Uzbek menu, including plov, samsas and soups. There’s a convenient central Asian 24 hour grocery shop a few storefronts down also. Definitely check it out!“

“Over the past few years there has been a big influx of Uzbek resteraunts in Northeast Philly. Barakat keeps their menu short and simple and because of this they are able to maintain high quality. I've been here twice and both times they exceeded my expectations. They have one of the best shawarma wraps in all of Philadelphia, it's made fresh off the spick and they fill up a wrap with lots of meat. I also love their samsa and their soups are also very popular. If you are coming here for the first time I recommend getting the Lavash Wrap (Shawarma) and the Samsa, you will not be disappointed.“

I pulled up around 8:30pm which is just a half hour until they close and had no issue getting served. I got the lamb over rice and it was absolutely amazing. The white sauce is soooooo good. The man running the place seemed like a nice guy too. I'm not one to take the time to write a review, but this food was so good that I felt it necessary to leave one. Reasonably priced, staff are lovely. Place is set up like a diner and kept very very clean. We are here a few times during our trip, tried others but had to come back. Eat j. “best halal platter for $10 and I grab one everytime Im in the area 2x a month as I live 10 miles away. was in new hempstead in long island this past wknd n tried their halal spots but they were so commercial/trash but this rite here is the way better n more for the price this friendly Afghani woman said i need to go to Brooklyn for the best gyro n halal food.
