I haven't been in the area for years. However. Friday I treated myself to a great meal of Stewed beef with peas & rice & cabbage. The food & service were excellent. I'll be going back again.
I dined in for an early dinner and ordered the Brown Stew Chicken w Yams & Collard Greens, Fish Soup, and Watermelon Juice. Everything was very tasty! The yams didn’t have much additional flavor though but I didn’t mind because as a side they just absorbed the sauce from the Brown Stew Chicken and got flavored that way. Also they seem to use pretty fresh produce so all the produce had more of its own natural flavor - yams, collard greens, as well as the cabbage and carrots...
This place may seem a little off but don’t be afraid because inside is flavor like no other. The food was super yummy and the price was surprisingly reasonable. But the true gem was their homemade juice. We tried the watermelon juice and it was like biting into a fresh slice of watermelon. For food we tried the curry goat with rice and peas and cabbage, and the oxtails with sweet potatoes and collard greens. The portions were a lot for the price all together we spent 37 for...
