The best! Worth a drive. Our favorites so far are Lamb Boti Kabob, Malai Kofta, and Aloo Tikka Chaat. The cream cheese naan is amazing, too.
Some of the best Indian food in the world (outside of India) is located in the United Kingdom and in this Kingsessing restaurant. Usually, Indian food found in the US tends to be served in a very thick, heavy sauce. This place took me back to the UK joints I loved in 2019 and 2024. The chicken curry sauce was a perfect blend of spices and broth which meshed nicely with the basmati rice and naan. This is my first time eating their food but will certainly not be my last. Indian Char House is a must-try for anyone in the city looking for delicious Indian cuisine. Their biryani is easily the best around, packed with flavor and not greasy at all. The cheese chicken naan was a bit lacking in filling, but the naan itself was tasty. Other standout dishes include the Quail with Turmeric spices, the garlic cheese naan, and the butter chicken, which is rich, smooth, and delicious. The lentil soup is deliciously complex, although a larger serving would be appreciated. The mixed BBQ platter and chicken korma also received high praise. The Pakoras and veggie samosas are surprising favorites, adding to the variety. Overall, whether ordering through Uber Eats, DoorDash, or dining in, Indian Char House is a great choice for a satisfying Indian meal with excellent service and a lovely atmosphere. Don't forget to try the mango lassi!
