Colorful, fun, instagrammable spot in Old town. The mojitos are fantastic, and what the place is known for. Clean, crisp, refreshing, not too sweet. I had the masitas de puerco fritas, a pork dish. I did this on recommendation from the sever, who told me it was fall apart tender. I thought mine was a little tough and fatty, but I don’t hold that against her or the restaurant. My wife and I had dinner here before a concert at the Foundry and it was an AMAZING experience. The place looks like you're walking into a little slice of Cuba. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, very fresh and seasoned to perfection. I had the Crab Guacamole that's served with fresh fried plantains. Monday evenings offer limited dining choices in Philadelphia's Old City -- happily a family dinner for four at Cuba Libre provided an excellent evening. Early in the evening, and mid-week, so both atmosphere and service were quiet and easy. Well-started with a range of choice among the mojitos -- onward to a fine Malbec to accompany dinners that were ample and tasty.
