Monday evenings offer limited dining choices in Philadelphia's Old City -- happily a family dinner for four at Cuba Libre provided an excellent evening. Early in the evening, and mid-week, so both atmosphere and service were quiet and easy. Well-started with a range of choice among the mojitos -- onward to a fine Malbec to accompany dinners that were ample and tasty. Colorful, fun, instagrammable spot in Old town. The mojitos are fantastic, and what the place is known for. Clean, crisp, refreshing, not too sweet. I had the masitas de puerco fritas, a pork dish. I did this on recommendation from the sever, who told me it was fall apart tender. I thought mine was a little tough and fatty, but I don’t hold that against her or the restaurant. My wife and I had dinner here before a concert at the Foundry and it was an AMAZING experience. The place looks like you're walking into a little slice of Cuba. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, very fresh and seasoned to perfection. I had the Crab Guacamole that's served with fresh fried plantains.
