Scampi Reviews
Loved that this spot has several restaurants to choose from. Our dinner was made quickly and it was absolutely delicious! I got the gyro and my daughter got a poke bowl. I especially loved the crunchy chicken peas on my gyro!
Great poke
I am lucky to have heard of Scampi from the wonderful queen village residents and south Philly and beyond. As someone that doesn’t include Italian food in their top favorite cuisines, Scampi has me in a chokehold. Chef Liz highlights the various regions of Italy in her monthly prefix menus. Scampi is a restaurant in Queen Village that has diners in a chokehold. The cuisine highlights various regions of Italy with monthly prefix menus, but the creativity is endless, featuring dishes like swordfish cutlet, gnudi, stuffed mussels, testaroli, patis flavored shrimp, country fried steak, tiramisu calamansi tarts, and ube cake. The food is gorgeously presented and equally as tasty, with attentive service. The focaccia served with pastas is soft and salty and delightful. The a la carte Wednesday menu features classic pastas, unique fishy salads, and an incredible smash burger. Every dish feels thoughtful and intentional, with each pasta having its own distinct shape, flavor profile, and texture. The tiramisu is just WOW. The meal is a flavor narrative where ingredients are both integrated and separate. The staff is very warm and inviting. It does not feel crowded or rushed, and it is typically BYOB. The space is intimate without being a tight fit. This is a special place, one of the best meals in Philadelphia, and hands down the best pasta outside of Italy. Highly recommend.
