About Soufiane at the Morris

Soufiane at the Morris is a little gem of a restaurant tucked away in Washington Square. The menu is French/Moroccan, and each dish is made with care and finesse. The restaurant has a beautiful bar and an outdoor tented garden that makes you feel like you’re in the south of France. The owner comes from a family of chefs and Bakers in Paris and Morocco and has a wealth of experience. All the dishes are perfectly prepared and executed. The tagines are absolutely delicious with mouth watering tender meat and fish options. The escargot is piping hot, garlic and buttery, tasty and traditional, and the duck special is especially superb. The charcuterie spread goes with almost anything. The desserts are absolutely amazing, especially the pain perdu and creme brulee. The cocktails are delicious and the bartenders are amazing. The menu is incredibly varied. The cozy dining room is perfect for fall and winter evenings, but the garden is an other worldly experience. The outdoor area is covered, so you’re protected from the rain. The staff and Chef are warm and welcoming. Come for the happy hour, stay for a bite. Bring friends, bring a date.

I love this little gem of a restaurant tucked away in Washington Square! The menu is French/Moroccan and each dish is made with care and finesse that warrants recognition. They have a beautiful bar, and an outdoor tented garden that makes you feel like you’re in the south of France. Soufian is the owner who also owns Sofi corner cafe on 11th and Locust, another local French breakfast and lunch gem!

We had a wonderful night here. Food and the service was great.
At Soufiane I found an unexpectedly vybey restaurant and bar with attentive service, and a spacious and enchanted outdoor dining space. I can only speak for a couple of the dishes: escargot was piping hot, garlic and buttery, tasty and traditional. The duck special was especially superb. I think the garnishes were potato and pear/ brilliant. Creme brulee for dessert!
