Their Fish&Chips is great!!
After doing some touristy things on a Saturday, we were walking around Center City looking for a place to grab a few drinks and stumbled upon The Black Sheep. The downstairs bar was full, but we headed upstairs and found two stools at the bar. Great vibe overall - tap beers were solid and a nice pour for my wife's vodka and sodas. The bartender was friendly. Definitely a good find if you’re in the area.
I got this take away and for take away it was good. The fries were delicious and the fish was cooked to perfection. I will have to try this hot and fresh at the restaurant! Will be back!
Lady on the phone had the absolute worst customer service I’ve ever experienced.
I visited for dinner several months ago and then was part of hosting a large group for a private event list Wednesday night. Everybody in the group raved about the food, both in terms of quality and the timeliness of the service. This included various appetizers, for which the lamb chops were absolutely a hit, as well as the dinner. Even the dessert was good. The drink selections were terrific and the Irish coffee was wonderful.
Nice bar
Can't speak to the food, but a great place to grab a quick Guinness. Love the outdoor bar shelf in the front of the building.
Really cool bar in Center City. Great atmosphere and reasonable prices for drinks. Four friends and I went before a steakhouse dinner at a restaurant. We averaged four drinks each, and the bill was $100. I will take that anytime in Center City.
A really solid spot in center city west for an Irish pub. Have been going for years and they don't miss.
The Black Sheep Pub is one of those places that feels like a warm hug the moment you walk in. It’s got that perfect old-school pub atmosphere—dim lighting, wooden everything, and just enough creaky floorboards to remind you it has some history.
The vibe here is effortlessly cozy. The crowd is a nice mix, the music is at the right volume, and you can usually snag a quiet corner if you’re in the mood to chat or brood poetically into your pint.
Speaking of pints—the draft beer selection is solid. Nothing too obscure, but there’s a good mix of local favorites and reliable classics that keep both beer nerds and casual drinkers happy.

Awesome little place I attended during the Clarion Wrestling social.
When you a group of 20 upstairs and the bartender hollers at you for being loud…. Find better employees as you lost 20 patrons at 12:12 on a Sunday!
Best fish and chips!!! Great space.
Exceptional bar / restaurant with brilliant atmosphere, beverages, cuisine and service. James, Rachel and Co have a real winner here and they deserve it...
Some of the best food around Philly in this place. The calamari is off the hook.
