Fantastic Sushi and Service at Nakama South Side! The atmosphere is inviting and the perfect setting for a delicious meal. We focused on their sushi, and it was outstanding. Every roll was beautifully presented and tasted incredibly fresh, with a great balance of flavors and textures. You can tell they use high-quality ingredients and have skilled sushi chefs. Beyond the amazing food, the service was impeccable. Our server was attentive, friendly, and genuinely helpful with recommendations. The entire staff made us feel welcome and ensured a smooth, enjoyable dining experience. If you're a sushi lover or just looking for an excellent Japanese meal in a vibrant setting, Nakama South Side is a must-try. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend it!
Good place for Japanese food. Sushi, excellent. Steak good. Veggies only OK. We'll go back
It smelled of dirty wash towels! The service was slow and the drinks were not well crafted. Do NOt waste your time or money. Beware of an awful experience
Our server was very attentive, welcoming and kind. Our chef Enrique was great and very friendly!
We have been dining at Nakama for years and this was by far the worst experience in a restaurant. First of all it was extremely hot in there and they had a construction fan blowing air through the restaurant. The service was awful. Our waitress was terrible and and made no apologies for her slow and rude demeanor.
Service, food and chef was not near as good as it used to be. Server was not attentive. Chef was not active. Food was bland. And not near as much food as normal.
The food was good. We sat at a bar table so it was a little delayed in getting initial service but was fine after. Our appetizer did come after our food. I'm not sure if there was an oil fire or something but when we arrived and throughout the meal there was a really overwhelming smell of burning oil. I know there's hibachi tables but it was empty and 6:30 pm so maybe it just always smells like that but that was a bummer. Almost like there isn't proper ventilation
The restaurant changed the reservation time without consulting us. The place was loud and smoky. Not impressive. Will not return.
We had a great visit, just a little understaffed but I understand it is hard to find good restaurant workers. We had to wait a long time for drinks and for our chef to come to the table. Other than that our hibachi guy was fantastic and the food was great!
Valentine's Day dinner. The food was yummy as always. I was impressed by the service. It was a very busy night but we had a very typical wait times for drinks, the hibachi etc. Our sever kept up with drink refills, to-go container requests etc. A pleasant experience and nice start to the rest of our evening.

Sat hibachi style and had an outstanding meal. Valet parking makes this manageable in the South side
Cool place in Pittsburgh South Side to watch hibachi food getting made, but it was kind of expensive. The portions weren’t that great either. Food was decently seasoned.

Ordered over $100 online and it was soooo bad. I never review anything but people need to know how disgusting and bland this food was. A complete waste of money I’m so upset.

The Avocado in my sushi rolls was brown an tasted not so good. One of my roll pieces had a Avocado skin in it, cucumber skin is tough.
I used to really like this restaurant but they have gone down hill.
A small container of salad for $4 is not worth it, ginger dressing tasted like it had way to much oil in it.
I won't be ordering from here anymore

Do not eat there. I ordered land and sea and got food poisoning. Went straight to hospital. I called to speak with a manager never get a call back.
