Had a couple of beers then ordered mahi-mahi fish tacos to eat in and an order of mac and cheese for my wife to go. One bartender brings me silverware then 5 minutes later the other bartender brings me a bag with my whole order to go. I tell him the tacos were for eat in. He said he misunderstood stood. Based on the reviews, Rear End | Gastropub & Garage is a favorite place in Pittsburgh, especially during warmer months. The atmosphere is cool, especially when the garage doors are open. Inside, the restaurant side has booths and tables, while the bar side has bar and high top seating. Outside, there is a covered patio and an open patio with picnic tables. The open patio is a dog friendly area and a place for kids to run around. The restaurant has an extensive selection of local craft beers, a decent wine selection, and incredible craft cocktails. The food is consistently good with a lot of options at great prices. Menu favorites include the Nashville Hot chicken sandwich, the fish sandwich, and the cheesesteak. The chicken was a little dry at times, but the brussel sprots are amazing. The service is friendly and attentive. Rear End is also highly recommended for events, with a group of about 85 people handled well. The front outdoor space mixed with part of the restaurant is the perfect amount of room.
