Salem is great in terms of taste and price, especially thanks to the lady at the entrance who handles the takeout orders — she’s absolutely wonderful.
However, I had a very bad experience because of the gentleman working on the left side of the open buffet. I asked him, “Can you make it mixed?” and he said “Yes.” I placed my order, but he only served one type. When I pointed it out, he said, “We don’t do that,” acting as if our earlier conversation had never happened. On top of that, while I was waiting for my order — with no sign or indication saying “Do not wait here” — he told me, “You can’t wait here, I feel uncomfortable,” and effectively told me to leave.
The most ironic part is that, seeing how busy he was, I approached him with goodwill and even said, “Your hair looks nice, you look good today,” to try to boost his mood. Yet he still acted in a way that was completely disrespectful and dismissive toward a customer.
No employee has the right to take out their tiredness or stress on customers. This behavior casts a shadow on the quality of the business. I hope this person either changes his attitude or is moved to a role where he does not deal with customers.
Note date is august 9 time around 4 pm.

The food here was amazing. I was visiting from out of town and called a friend that I remembered was from Pittsburgh. And he recommended this spot. It's not no fine dining establishment. But if you looking for good cooked food and no fast food junk. This is the spot. Looking forward to going to Pittsburgh again. Beautiful city. And I appreciate the hospitality in this Salem Market & Grill.

I recently visited Salem’s Market to place a meat order and unfortunately had a disappointing experience with the butcher on duty. Despite approaching politely and providing my order list in an organized manner, the butcher seemed visibly annoyed and was mumbling throughout our interaction.
As a customer, I expect basic courtesy and professionalism, especially when making a purchase. While I understand that busy periods can be stressful, the attitude I encountered made what should have been a straightforward transaction quite uncomfortable.
The quality of the meat itself may be fine, but customer service is equally important to me when choosing where to shop. I hope the management will address staff training regarding customer interactions, as this recurring experience has made me reconsider returning.
Great food! Great place! Friendly staff! Do yourself a favor check it out.

I love this place. Generous portions of great food and quite a large selection of said foods. I haven't been disappointed by anything that I've ordered here. The market is nice too. Lots of delicious Turkish meats and cheeses

Excellent food at great prices. Really enjoyed my lamb kabob sandwich, and so did our little kiddo! Definitely will be back.

It's just alright. Chicken Tikka and lamb curry was pretty watery for my taste, not very thick curries. The price is definitely higher than the quality that is provided.

Best tasting chicken lamb and beef I have ever had. I will not buy these from another store. Grocery or fast food.

Prices at Salem Market are really getting out of hand! A medium pack of dates that used to cost under $10 is now $14.99. Garlic bread went from $10 to $15—seriously, what's happening? We get that you faced some losses when you opened that new spot on Center Ave, but don’t pass those costs onto your customers. We didn’t ask for a new store, so why should we be paying more? And don’t even get me started on the Afghan bread; it’s almost $4 for one here, while in Virginia and Canada you can snag at least five for that same price!
