The outside and inside of the hotel are clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. The historic details of the hotel are beautiful. Our room was very nice-lots of space. The bathroom is smaller in comparison to the main areas but it is functional, clean and serves its purpose. The staff went above and beyond to make the extras happen for my boyfriend for our getaway. I don’t understand all the good reviews. This place is so dated the furniture looks like it has not been updated in 30 years. Carpets are worn out and the bathroom is tiny and outdated. I get the historical part but you are allowed to renovate the inside. Outside of the fairmont it seems every hotel in Pittsburgh is old and tired looking.

This hotel was pretty much what I expected from a four-star hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms are small but that's what you get from an older building. The rooms were clean and included a mini-fridge. The only thing we could find fault with was that the bar closed at 12:30 am. We had just returned from a concert and wanted to sit and calm down with a drink. It seems quite early to close on a Friday night. The bell-man, Doug, was very friendly and helpful.
