First, this is a truly beautiful and relaxing place. All the staff seemed to appreciate us as patrons. However there is a downside right now. The menu is small and relatively unappetizing. Entrees are limited. This really wouldn't be all that bad but our food was way overdone, dry and very unappealing. One of the entrees was the Amish Chicken. The Terrace Room is one of my favorite restaurants. I have been going for many years to the Terrace Room, but only a couple times per year as it is very expensive. The food and service are always exceptional which makes the big bill a little easier to pay.

Because of the long standing reputation of the William Penn I expected nothing but an exceptional experience. The service was excellent- the waitstaff was very attentive. However I was disappointed that we were not able to select from a variety of teas - we were served three teas but they seemed to be very ordinary, common teas that I could have bought at a local grocery store.
